If you are going skinny on the bottom go big on the top, especially for winter.  The Balmain western boots added just the right amount of attitude and personality.

Most of us like a good pair of leather pants or leggings, but they can be difficult to find and expensive.  I have been through many pairs of suede and leather leggings and spent way too much money only to continue to be dissatisfied with the fit.  Maybe it was the fact that I was going after leather 'leggings' instead of leather 'pants.'  There is a distinct difference and if you have hips and a butt the pants will make for a much better fit and feel more comfortable.  Out of all my leather pants and leggings, including the Helmut Lang pair I own, these are my favorite by far.  They cost a pretty penny and they are made in the USA.  They are also available in a beautiful brown/rust color.  They have the fit of a jean, which I think makes all the difference.  My calves also feel like they can breathe and the pants themselves do not take precious hours of huffing and puffing to put on your body.

This was their first outing so I paired them with my softest burnt orange sweater that 525 America sent me.  Last time I wore this sweater with a pleated skirt for a schoolgirl look.  The sweater went from preppy in my first outfit to downtown in this ensemble.  A black cashmere scarf is a basic you should definitely have in your closet.  I highly recommend this Alexander Wang scarf I am wearing purely based on the softness test.  If it is soft you are going to wear it a lot more.  Over top I threw on my huge faux fur coat by Burning Torch.  I feel pretty invincible when I wear this thing.  If you are going skinny on the bottom go big on the top, especially for winter.  The Balmain western boots added just the right amount of attitude and personality.
