Givenchy Lace-Up Textured-Leather Boots in Black - Worn before here with Elizabeth and James velvet jacket
A.L.C. Stripe Sweater in Navy/White - Snagged off Shopbop.com for $180 (Retail: $450)
I always wanted a sweater or a blazer with elbow patches, especially leather elbow patches. Luckily, this beautiful striped cashmere and wool blend sweater by A.L.C. complete with leather elbow patches went on sale for a great price. The sweater feels like full cashmere to me and I love the fit. It is easy to throw on and I don't have to fuss around with the way it hangs. Striped sweaters and tops are classic wardrobe pieces so I can imagine wearing this for years to come. A.L.C. has slowly become one of my favorite brands because the quality is always good. For some reason their pieces usually go on sale and I am lucky enough to find them in my size. I also own a striped dress and a checkerboard cashmere cardigan by A.L.C. that I wore on the blog.
I like navy and white stripes against black leather, whether it be a pair of pants or a skirt so when I saw these two items lying near each other on the bed it was destiny. Sometimes I like being a little matchy matchy so the fact that the leather elbow patches match the black leather skirt makes me smile. I already have this Haute Hippie leather skirt in mauve and it is such a great basic leather mini I decided to get it in black as well. This is one of those items I cannot believe ended up on Gilt Groupe. The perfect basic black leather miniskirt is hard to find for anyone and getting it at a reasonable price is even more difficult.
The Givenchy lace-up ankle boots are one of my all time favorite pairs of shoes. My boyfriend really likes them because he finds them to be very high quality and he has seen a lot of my shoes laying around. I like the textured leather on these and the fact that there is no zipper, just laces. A lot of my designer lace up boots have a zipper to make it easier to put on your foot, but sometimes you just want the old school lace up sans zipper. I think these were one of Givenchy's best boot designs.
