I cannot get enough of lace shorts. They are popping up everywhere from every single designer in different variations. These Nightcap Clothing jungle lace shorts feature a chiffon tie waist and a soft jersey lining. I find Nightcap Clothing in general makes some of the softest pieces of clothing and when I read the label on their lace pieces it says the lace is imported from France so maybe that's why. All of their clothing is made in the USA as well. I loved these shorts so much I bought them in the white lace version as well. I am saving that pair for when my legs are tanner. I tried out a new boutique called Fine 'N Funky when buying these shorts and I could not believe how quickly my order arrived at my doorstep. The shorts were very well packaged too, which I always appreciate.
I paired the Nightcap Clothing lace shorts with the sunniest piece I have in my closet. This VPL poncho screams summer due to the bright yellow color. It is as soft as can be and perfectly oversized. I can see myself throwing this on over a bikini at the beach. I usually try to stay away from yellow pieces as they don't look that good against my skin and hair, but I found this poncho hard to resist. I think this is one of the best pieces to come out of the VPL clothing line. I have some of their bras and other tops and they cannot quite compare to this sunny piece. You can barely see it, but I am wearing a new bra from Cosabella underneath the yellow poncho. It is made in Italy and the softest bra I own. I am now on the hunt for more Cosabella bras.
For shoes I wore my new Christian Louboutin lace-up salsbourg sandals in black suede. I snagged these at Barneys in Chicago. I fell in love with the thong sandal look and I found the tassel ties to be quite sexy. I like any shoe that borders on flip flop status, but also incorporates a heel. I have a pair of Jil Sander asymmetric heels that also feature a thong sandal effect. I wear a lot of flips flops during my downtime. I even wore flip flops into winter and paid the price when I slipped on some slushy ice and fell on my back. I swore never again to wear flip flops in the winter after that. Old habits die hard I guess.
