On one of our hottest days this summer I dressed pretty casually to check out a creek in a nearby area for some minnows. I wore Siwy ombre denim shorts with the softest T by Alexander Wang muscle tank. To dress up the outfit I added some fun gold bangles and cuffs from Kristen Elspeth as well as a beaded bracelet. On my feet I wore leather flip flops from Abercrombie & Fitch. Chanel sunglasses finished off the look. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.

So you won't believe the story behind these Rag & Bone burgundy suede leggings that I snagged off Forward Forward. I was home on a Friday night as usual and I saw some new arrivals e-mail pop up in my inbox. Off I went to check out the new goodies. My eyes went straight to these beautiful Rag & Bone elger leggings in burgundy suede. When I looked at the price, $240, I could not believe my eyes. It seemed way too cheap for suede leggings from Rag & Bone. I checked out as fast as I could and even used a 20% off code I found which made the total come to $192. As soon as I was done checking out I noticed that the leggings had completely sold out. Later I looked around the Internet and found that these leggings by Rag & Bone actually retail for $1250. Somehow someone at Forward Forward input the price wrong. I suspect they forgot the '1' at the beginning of the price. Thus, the leggings were marked for an extremely low price. Needless to say, I will not be sending these back and I have to say that these were the snag of the year for 2010!
In this outfit I was going for more of a preppy look and incorporating some layering for the lower temps here in Colorado. I first layered this Brooks Brothers shirt that my boyfriend bought for me underneath this Vanessa Bruno gray sweater. I think Brooks Brothers makes some fabulous fitted shirts for women. Plus, these shirts never wrinkle so no ironing or steaming. What could be better? I then layered this leather button down collar jacket from The Limited on top. There is a great story behind this little leather jacket. I bought it from The Limited probably 9 years ago after work one night in Fargo, North Dakota. It was on sale for a very cheap price. Well, all this time it still had the tags on it and I finally took them off and looked at the tag inside the jacket. To my surprise it says 'Made in Italy.' I was so happy that it said that, but I never knew that at one time The Limited actually made leather jackets in Italy. I am definitely keeping this jacket around and wearing it a lot more. Does anyone know if they still make things in Italy at The Limited?
To top it all off I paired this burnt orangey looking faux fox fur scarf that I bought for a bargain price from Vera of Deep in Vogue with the Rag & Bone burgundy leggings. There is something pleasing to the eye about burnt orange and burgundy together, at least in my eyes. I love Vera's Etsy shop and I would buy this faux fur scarf in more colors. It goes with everything! Last but not least, my lovely boyfriend bought me these Alaia braided suede ankle boots for Christmas. The photos on Net-a-Porter did not do these shoes justice. The detailing in the braided suede and the fit is second to none. I love all Alaia shoes I think, but not the prices.

Stone Cold Fox Vagrant Velvet Burnout Shorts in Black - Snagged off RevolveClothing.com for $132 (Retail: $165)
The Limited Sleeveless Velvet Turtleneck - Snagged at The Limited for $10 (Retail: $29)
Eddera Olive Branch Ring in Gold - Snagged off Gilt.com for $98 (Retail: $200?)
Say hello to my new favorite brand, Stone Cold Fox. Have you ever wanted velvet shorts? I have always wanted a pair and the burnout pattern on these are perfect. When I think of velvet I think of that Seinfeld episode where George shows up at the cafe to meet Jerry wearing an all velvet sweatsuit. It always makes me laugh. I based my outfit off of that image and I wore a velvet turtleneck tank from The Limited as my top. I wish you could see the details of my Eddera olive branch ring because it wraps around my finger so nicely. The best part of this outfit are these Fendi boots that my boyfriend bought me in Aspen. I saw these and I wanted to buy them on the spot. I love the placement of the pony hair and also the gold logo on the front of the toe box. I wore this out to a Mexican restaurant nearby where we got to sit outside and enjoy one of the last warm evenings of the summer.

I felt like wearing these cobalt blue pants today, which are insanely comfortable. This is one of my more casual looks, but I really love it. I like the pop of blue in the middle of the whole outfit. This plaid tunic dress I got a couple years ago and still love today seemed like the perfect match over these pants. These boots are my favorite walking boots and since we were going to Cherry Creek and shopping a bit I thought they would be perfect. I like the mixing of the brown leather jacket with the black leather boots. I am in love with the color of this jacket on me and the woven details at the top. I figured I would give all the high end designer shoes a rest and go back to my good old Dolce Vitas. I am not afraid to mix high and low and I welcome the challenge. I think this look is cute for shopping or even going to class.
We ended up finding this cool alley to take some photos after we took some in the bright sunlight. Later on we headed into Saks and the only thing I could find, believe it or not, was some Theory cardigan on sale, but one of the ties was broken off on it. Pretty lame, eh? I hate when stuff is damaged. I order online sometimes and it comes damaged. I go to the store and it is damaged. I think we need some better quality control. Do you all like that I am posting more often? Let me know and I will continue posting more than once a week!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I was featured on Hypeed with my thigh high boots from Gucci. Check it out if you get a chance. Thanks for the feature Hypeed!
