It has been a couple years since I bought anything by Madison Marcus, but I am totally in love with these shorts.

I have been looking for a concho belt for a long time so when I saw this belt on the front page of the Free People website I snagged it right away as there was only one left in the size I needed. I have a lot of belts and every time I see one I like I add it to my collection. I think belts come in handy in many situations and a nice leather belt can last you for years. My boyfriend really liked this one. I now want a concho belt with some turquoise on it, but I have a feeling I will have to go vintage to find it. Maybe someone will make one eventually. Anyway, I like Streets Ahead for belts because all their belts are made in the USA and pretty high quality. If you look under the brand Streets Ahead on the lefthand side bar of Fashion Snag you can see my other Streets Ahead belts. Free People is the only place I ever see selling the Streets Ahead brand because the actual Streets Ahead website is not that functional for shopping and only features a few older style belts.
I wore it with my navy blue light denim shorts by Siwy Jeans. The main thing I like about Siwy denim is the softness and the fit is perfect for me. These are more of a lighter weight denim material than my other Siwy denim shorts, making them perfect for a sweltering summer day. I like the color name too because it reminds me of my mother. She always told me to use Sea Breeze astringent on my acne when I was younger and it never worked, but I still liked the smell. I wore this crochet button down shirt by Of Two Minds that was expensive even on sale. I fell for it because it has such a bohemian flair and it is a really unique piece. I can see it being worn open over a tank as well. I have some other pieces by Of Two Minds that I adore and that have been posted on Fashion Snag.
These Marni heels have a wooden platform and a slingback buckle fastening. I snagged these off of Gilt Groupe. To be honest, I am not that much of a fan of Marni shoes. I always see them on sale everywhere and they usually look quite eccentric. However, I changed my mind slightly when I saw these. I fell in love with the bohemian and natural feel of the shoe. The shape of the cutouts remind me of my Charlotte Olympia eve heels. I own the Marni stump wedge sandals that dominated the blogosphere a few years back as well. One thing I can tell you about Marni shoes is that they are quite comfortable. These platform sandals are great for casual summer outfits and fall in the leg elongating category.

This is one of my more casual outfits. I have a ton of belts so I decided why not belt a tank at the waist with some denim shorts. It makes the outfit a little bit more edgy and doesn't take a lot of extra work. I stalked this belt on the Free People website until it got marked down to a reasonable price. I like the chain detail and how you can wear it with the belt in back or in front. This Kova & T tank was purchased at a blowout sale Hautelook was having a few weeks ago. It was such a low price I could not resist. They have been having a lot of really great blowout sales. The pocket lining on these Siwy shorts is so cute peeking out from the frayed hem. This Comme des Garcons clutch purse is my go-to accessory for casual outfits. These photos were taken before going to a doctor's appointment so it was perfect to hold everything I needed. I am trying to give you a glimpse into all the outfits I wear on a daily basis. I really think the belt made this outfit into something more stylish than denim shorts and a tank. Oh, and I can't forget about the Miu Miu wedges. Those helped as well!

Vest - Handmade and designed by Vera of Deep in Vogue/Gruhche on Etsy
Streets Ahead Studded Flower Belt - Snagged off FreePeople.com
Maggie Ward Black Silk Drawstring Cropped Pants - Snagged off RevolveClothing.com
Camilla Skovgaard Saddle Sandal - Snagged off Gilt.com
I am in love with these pants. They are silky and I think once I wear them enough I might just turn them into pajamas. The only negative is the wrinkle factor and since I have a love/hate relationship with my steamer, I try to avoid steaming at all costs. When I first got this belt I did not know if I would get that much use out of it. I am usually into wider belts. Then I bought this vest from Vera and I wanted it a little more fitted so I added this belt and presto! I think it almost looks like it belongs with the vest. Lovely! I love this vest so much. I had planned to show you my top underneath in some photos by leaving the vest open in a relaxed fit, but there were too many weird people milling about. Whenever we go on our dog walks we see no one, but photoshoot time brings out all the crazies. I am a pretty shy person and even though I have this blog it took me a long time to work up the courage to start it. The heels are by Camilla who I am in absolute love with because every shoe she designs is a piece of art and these are no exception =) I thought the contrast of the wool vest with the silk pants was really interesting. Next time I will wear the vest open and relaxed. I am in love with all of Vera's creations as you can tell. She is my favorite designer at the moment!
