I have seen many a full skirt looking bad due to the hip hugger mentality and I want you to know that a full skirt can be beautiful, sexy, and playful. I call this look bohemian meets ballerina.

I saw this blazer when it first arrived on the Shopbop website and I knew I had to have it. I obsessed over it for a month before I finally took the plunge. It was the perfect bohemian piece no matter how impractical a suede blazer can be in the summer. It has a laser-cut floral pattern and the ruffle in the back is slightly higher so it won't make your butt look bigger than it actually is which is a good thing in my case. The blazer sold out pretty quickly, even for the hefty price tag. I am really impressed with this piece from Pencey and I think I will have it for years to come. The suede is delicate and intricate, but the jacket itself is really well made and it fits me perfectly.
I layered it over a cotton voile dress with lace insets from By Malene Birger. I have slowly come to love so many the pieces from By Malene Birger. This dress is very delicate and I got it because it is white and sleeveless. I needed more dresses like this for summer and this one in particular is so versatile due to the adjustable straps. I wore my Only Hearts nude slip underneath since it is sheer. I accessorized the entire look with my Marni platform sandals. These are so comfortable I have had a difficult time taking them off. I think it is the slingback buckle and the platform that makes them feel so nice on my feet. I also like the fact that they elongate the legs. I wore these orange and silver fringe beaded earrings that I bought off the Free People website a couple years ago. I think Ashley Tisdale was spotted wearing them and they came in a lot of different colors. For the price, they are very high quality and I like how they really made the whole outfit pop.

Pencey Leopard Print Field Shorts in Leopard - Snagged off Shopbop.com for $136 Retail
Leopard print denim shorts have been on my wish list for some time now so when I saw these pop up on Shopbop months ago I knew I had to snag them before they sold out in my size. Now they are completely sold out so I am happy to have them. The pockets hang out and the leopard print is the perfect shade. Pencey can sometimes be a hit or miss with me, but lately they have been a total hit, especially their spring 2011 collection. I have some other items I am eyeing as well from Pencey and a few pieces I still have to debut on Fashion Snag so stay tuned.
I paired the Pencey leopard field shorts with this silk military looking ivory blouse from Elizabeth and James that I snagged off of Gilt Groupe. It has a shiny satin interior I like to show off by rolling up the sleeves. I think it was a good snag because it seems like I am always looking for white shirts, tops, and blouses. They are a wardrobe basic and can be utilized in so many different ways. This top is different from the Equipment blouses I own as well in terms of the mandarin collar.
For accessories I carried my Jimmy Choo martha clutch in gold to match the flecks of gold in the leopard print shorts. I carried that thought over when I picked out my shoes as well. I wanted the darker part of the leopard spots to match my shoes and I like the overall effect. I really adore the Yves Saint Laurent shoes from the spring 2011 collection. I snagged both variations of these woodstock platform sandals. I did some real walking in these and although the platform is heavy compared to the straps I never had any problems. The straps are made of the softest leather as well so they don't hurt my feet. They actually mold to my feet. I think the color is a nice change from all my black shoes as well. I had a coral colored lace bralette on underneath my blouse, which added a bold pop of color to the brown and white tones in the outfit. However, it is difficult to see that effect from the photos.

Missoni Woven Wide-Leg Pants in Brown - Snagged off theOutnet.com for $200 (Retail: $1,000)
Pencey Peasant Blouse in Silver - Snagged off RevolveClothing.com for $52 (Retail: $215)
Jessica Simpson Dany Platforms in Tan - Worn before here with Stone Cold Fox lace hitchhiker shorts
When these pants popped up on the Outnet for 80% off I couldn't click through the checkout fast enough. They were perfect for me and perfect for fall. I never dreamed I would own such a beautiful pair of pants. I love the woven zigzag fabric and I tried to give you a taste of the workmanship by including a few close-up photos. I wore them with my Jessica Simpson Dany platforms. I might as well tell you that I bought the platforms in tan specifically to go with these pants. I thought they both fit a certain time and era. On top I wore a Pencey blouse that reminds me of a Seinfeld episode where Jerry has to wear this puffy shirt and hates it. It is funny how those Seinfeld episodes transcend time.

We strolled into Cherry Creek on yet another sunny afternoon to grab some coffee and check out some gardening shops. We are really excited to plant our garden again this year. I wore a long silk maxi skirt, which felt so nice against my skin. I think maxi skirts are such a great and comfortable clothing item for spring. The blush and nude color trend for spring is right up my alley so I picked up these Topshop wedges in the blush color. I thought the chiffon ties were way too beautiful to pass up. An hour after I bought them they were sold out! They are pretty comfortable and I love the height, especially with such a long skirt. I like to pair crop tops with long skirts to balance things out so I reached for yet another lace top. It was a little chilly when I wasn't in the sun so this zebra cardigan made out of merino wool was the perfect, soft addition to my Sunday afternoon outfit. While we were strolling down a side street we came upon this tall metal sculpture called "Totem" and we could hardly resist the photo opportunity. One of the things I really like about Cherry Creek is all of the outdoor art. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
