Layering is very necessary right now. I really like how this outfit turned out grungy, but adorable at the same time. I wanted to wear my new parrot sweatshirt with cut-off sleeves so I layered it over a long sleeve tee. On the bottom I layered leather shorts with opaque tights and wore my flat harness boots. For a coat I wore a cotton parka and then layered a cashmere scarf, cashmere mittens, and a cashmere beanie on top. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.
When you don't want to wear leather leggings because it isn't quite cold enough you can always try liquid leggings. They are thinner and sleeker. Add a soft, long distressed top and a cozy shearling jacket for bulk on top. For a pop of color try a bright cashmere scarf. To make sure you can trek around town wear some black wedges that have a saw sole or some type of grips on the bottom. This look would work well for a casual night out. Congratulations to Karen Allen for winning the Raina Belts giveaway!
For daytime I usually like to be in wedges or shoes with a thicker heel. I chose these Dolce & Gabbana wedges because I bought them over the winter during a Gilt Groupe sale for a killer price.

I get a lot of questions about the creative process of putting my outfits together so we took some more detailed shots of the clothing and accessories alone and then modeled by me. This outfit came to life for an art gallery opening featuring some tasty wines. Originally, I did not know if I was going to wear tights at all and I had a more sandal type shoe picked out. Then I decided to spice it up and debut some patterned lace tights to be more dramatic for the event and keep my legs warm. I love the pattern on these tights and I wish I had picked up an extra pair when they were still available. You never know when you are going to snag them! The lace crop top and the leather skirt were recent deliveries from Shopbop. When they had their new markdowns these items from my wish list were included so I went ahead and snagged them. I know I already had a leather skirt, but I could not resist leather in the form of a full skirt and bubble hem. Finally, a bubble hem done right. I really like the durability of leather clothing and it seems that New York Fashion Week runway shows are still loving leather as well.
The Chanel Bow Pearl Necklace was part of a Christmas present from my boyfriend, but since it was on pre-order from one of the Las Vegas Chanel boutiques I did not get it until last week. He picked it out and loves it just as much as I do. The Free People tube top is super comfortable, but as with most tube tops I did have to pull it up a few times throughout the night. These Dior pumps were a steal during the summer months when eLuxury was closing its retail site. I found them again when I was attempting a closet cleaning. This was my first time wearing them, but I think they are suited perfectly for this outfit.
I changed up the blog layout a bit and I have been learning more about CSS and HTML codes so I hope you like the changes.
