Soft body-conscious knits are taking over my closet for fall so it was no surprise when I snagged this long tube skirt. By styling it with a cropped cashmere cardigan, leopard scarf, and cognac leather hooded jacket I kept the figure skimming properties of the skirt intact. There are endless possibilities for fall and winter outfits using this long tube skirt and I am excited to put together another look. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.

Jeans are not my favorite, but I decided to change things up a bit. I was getting bored with my black opaque tights. I bought these jeans over a year ago at the huge Saks store in San Francisco with my friend Christina. Jeans are the one thing I don't buy online unless I am really sure about the sizing. I really like the zipper detail on the bottom of these jeans, especially when combined with these Miu Miu ankle boots. These suede ankle boots are very shapely and it is nice to show them off. By shapely I mean, they have a cool tulip vamp in the front that elongates the leg. I bought them off of Net-a-Porter for full price because they were selling out pretty quickly. Last time I wore them with Haute Hippie riding pants that also had zippers, but I didn't unzip the zippers. J brand and Siwy are my favorite denim brands, but I am always open to trying out new ones. I really think a black pair of skinny jeans is always a classic item to have in your closet.
I paired the J Brand denim with this LnA rolled sleeve pocket tee. They rolled the sleeves on this and sewed them in place so you don't have to do the work. I like LnA for basic tees and whenever there is a sale on Gilt Groupe I try to stock up. They are something you can always use, fashion blogger or not. Another brand I like for basic tees is Splendid. Both carry pretty soft materials in their lines and you can always find their tops on sale.
This Mike & Chris studded leather vest ended up in the 70% off section of Shopbop. I have no idea how it happened, but I snagged it right away. I have some leather jackets by Mike & Chris that I adore and that are pretty high quality so I figured I might as well go for it. It sold out within about 10 minutes so it wasn't in the final sale section long. It is very heavy and at first I thought maybe the studded leather was too much, but I do like how they kept the back of the vest stud free. It also drapes really well in the front and you can't say that about all the draped leather pieces you see out there. The only problem I have with this vest is that my hair sometimes gets caught in the studs and that can be a pain in the butt. I guess I am wearing it up in a ponytail next time. Otherwise, I think you could throw this vest over anything and make the whole outfit pop. I kept it simple with all black. I think next time I will try the vest over a little black dress. I think studs are always in style as long as you keep them in check and don't do studs in multiple pieces of your outfit. How do you feel about studded pieces in your closet?

My boyfriend and I went out to see the Black Swan and later had a delicious sushi dinner. I thought the movie was spectacular and not really scary, just very intense and deep, which I like. We took these photos after the night was drawing to a close and we were strolling in Larimer Square. We thought the lights looked beautiful and there were these cute metal buffalo lined up along the sidewalk. I wore my Gryphon fair isle leggings, which have to be the thickest pants I own. I always dreamed about fair isle knits and when I saw these I had to own them. They are made out of wool with leather piping details and the pattern is not the most flattering, but they definitely keep you warm. I think I could wear these skiing.
On top I layered my T by Alexander Wang crisscross bra underneath a Patrick Robinson for Target v-neck knit top. I never take this bra top off. It was my first T by Alexander Wang bra, but now I am convinced these are the only bras I want. I don't even notice I am wearing it. I then threw on this Shimera cashmere hoodie with bell sleeves and my Mike & Chris leather hoodie. This outfit was all about comfort in the movie theater. I didn't want to be distracted during the Black Swan. For shoes, I wore my Camilla Skovgaard wedge ankle boots. I needed the traction of the soles for walking.

I felt like wearing these cobalt blue pants today, which are insanely comfortable. This is one of my more casual looks, but I really love it. I like the pop of blue in the middle of the whole outfit. This plaid tunic dress I got a couple years ago and still love today seemed like the perfect match over these pants. These boots are my favorite walking boots and since we were going to Cherry Creek and shopping a bit I thought they would be perfect. I like the mixing of the brown leather jacket with the black leather boots. I am in love with the color of this jacket on me and the woven details at the top. I figured I would give all the high end designer shoes a rest and go back to my good old Dolce Vitas. I am not afraid to mix high and low and I welcome the challenge. I think this look is cute for shopping or even going to class.
We ended up finding this cool alley to take some photos after we took some in the bright sunlight. Later on we headed into Saks and the only thing I could find, believe it or not, was some Theory cardigan on sale, but one of the ties was broken off on it. Pretty lame, eh? I hate when stuff is damaged. I order online sometimes and it comes damaged. I go to the store and it is damaged. I think we need some better quality control. Do you all like that I am posting more often? Let me know and I will continue posting more than once a week!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that I was featured on Hypeed with my thigh high boots from Gucci. Check it out if you get a chance. Thanks for the feature Hypeed!

These photos were taken at the Denver Design Center. Although they are closed on Sundays, it was fun to do some window shopping. I love going into all the different shops in the Design Center and checking out the cool furniture. My favorite furniture brand would probably be Century Furniture. I bought my dresser from there and it is the best dresser I have ever met in my life. You can see it on my Velvet Baroness post a few pages back. Huge, long drawers, a great shape, and a beautiful finish are all I need. They also have this studded chest I am in absolute lust over. I swear if you took a photo next to the chest while wearing the Miu Miu studded boots, it would be like a match made in heaven. I am hoping to add the studded chest to our household soon.
It was really windy and cold when we took these photos so I am glad some of them turned out well. I was trying my best, but my hair was really getting whipped around. After we finished taking the photos, we headed down to Cherry Creek for some sushi. We actually went to two other sushi places in other areas of town that were closed before finally finding one that was open at around 2:30 in the afternoon. I have to say that I love the pairing of these velvet leggings and the leopard print ankle boots. I find myself drawn to summer items like the tunic I wore underneath the sweater. I have been trying to winterize a lot of my summer pieces and I like the idea of layering v-neck sweaters over ruffly tunics, especially when the fabrics are so at odds with each other.
