I was in the mood for the Turks and Caicos when I styled this outfit. Too bad I wasn't down there because I think it would have been the perfect setting for this outfit. One of my favorite purchases this summer was this Opening Ceremony long leopard skirt in silk. I like the brown and blue colors in it and the fact that it is made in the USA. It is very high quality and it also has a skirt lining above the knee, but below the knee it is completely sheer. I don't usually love maxi skirts because they aren't very flattering on most people, but since this one is mostly sheer it allows the silhouette of your legs to show through. I cannot get enough of leopard and I try to put something leopard print in almost every outfit I wear. Sometimes I want to double up on leopard pieces in an oufit, but then I remember that you are watching me and I have to look somewhat normal.
The skirt is high waisted enough and long enough to be paired with a crop top. My second favorite piece I snagged this summer is this Alexander Wang crochet fringe crop top. It has the most amazing criss cross back detailing and it is very well-made. Getting it on can be a little bit of a hassle as it has eyelet hooks along the side. When I first got it I tried to put it on over my head figuring it was just a stretchy top and soon realized it had an eyelet closure. It didn't stop me from loving the top overall though. I think the Opening Ceremony skirt and the Alexander Wang crochet top were made for each other, but that is just my opinion. I was falling asleep in the big black comfy leather office chair that used to belong to my boyfriend's father when I thought of this outfit and I was quite excited so I put it on right away. Sometimes my best ideas come to me as I am drifting off. I paired the ensemble with my Miu Miu patchwork t-strap wedges that I snagged last summer at Barneys and some shell earrings by Kori of Little Darling Designs. I think the shell earrings were the perfect accessory to really finish off the outfit. Now all I need is a Mango Tango and a blue floaty thing and I am set.

I went to the salon to get my hair trimmed with my favorite girl Shirley and then met up with my boyfriend who snapped these photos afterward. Shirley really liked my shoes and she has no idea how many pairs I actually own, nor does she know about Fashion Snag. Sometimes I am tempted to tell her, but I am really good at keeping secrets. Shirley is afraid to cut too many inches off my hair, but whenever I go in I tell her to cut off as much as she wants. I was sort of hoping she would chop off about 6 inches, but she didn't want to do it and told me I would have to see someone else for that job. My boyfriend could barely tell my hair was trimmed, but he did mention it was a lot more even on the bottom so I guess that is good.
Helmut Lang never fails me in terms of casual luxury and comfort. The sweaters and tanks might be expensive, but they are very well made and you will find yourself wearing them again and again in all sorts of ways. I had to wait a long time to get this pointelle knit tank because my size was out of stock. I have been wanting to wear it for some time now, but it didn't work with the bottoms I tried to pair it with until I went for these shorts. This Helmug Lang tank features an asymmetric hem and some crochet paneling in a neat geometric pattern. It is made of mostly linen, but it really doesn't wrinkle at all. Underneath the tank I wore my other Itty Bitty Bra that Dorothy sent me. This bra is more typical of the bras I normally wear. It is lacy and has no underwire, making it perfect for sheer tops such as this one. I also like that it doesn't have any hooks because sometimes those can dig into my skin and be uncomfortable.
The Siwy shorts need no explanation. Siwy is probably my favorite brand of denim at the moment, especially for shorts. They are not too tight around my thighs and the fabric is very soft. Also, this particular pair is lighter weight than all my others. I like the gray color overall for a change from the usual blue denim. I paired the shorts with a J. Crew skinny green belt that was hanging around nearby and then I matched up some earrings to go with the belt. My earrings are sea glass and are handmade by Kori of Little Darling Designs. Her earrings are lightweight and are great for everyday wear. They are made for a woman on the go. For sandals, I wore my cork lace-up suede platforms by Derek Lam. I plan to wear these non-stop all the way into fall because nothing screams summer like a cork platform and I am not ready for fall fashion just yet.

This skirt caught my eye a few months ago and I waited until it went on sale to snag it. The bold geometric patterns and chunky yarn embroidery made it stand out from the rest of the mini skirts. I adore Gryphon skirts and I have worn a scalloped green one before on Fashion Snag encrusted with rhinestones. Both of my Gryphon skirts were made in India, which is why I think they look so unique. I like a good silk/cotton blend in fabrics and this skirt consists of just that mixture. This one is so colorful so I went along with that theme by pairing it with a basic ribbed tank from Abercrombie & Fitch. I live in these types of tanks all summer long when I am running errands. I have them in all the colors so I was happy to see that this turquoise one matched the Gryphon skirt perfectly. I am never afraid of matching items too much. I think you can have lots of fun with this skirt by pairing it with different color tops or even a different patterned top. I wore my Only Hearts coral lace bralette underneath. I've always liked coral/red and turquoise together. For shoes, I wore my current favorite pair of wedges by Givenchy. Some white Hawaiian stone earrings by Little Darling Designs completed the summer look. I think these are my favorite pair of earrings out of all the pieces Kori sent me, but it is difficult to decide.
