I went to the salon to get my hair trimmed with my favorite girl Shirley and then met up with my boyfriend who snapped these photos afterward. Shirley really liked my shoes and she has no idea how many pairs I actually own, nor does she know about Fashion Snag. Sometimes I am tempted to tell her, but I am really good at keeping secrets. Shirley is afraid to cut too many inches off my hair, but whenever I go in I tell her to cut off as much as she wants. I was sort of hoping she would chop off about 6 inches, but she didn't want to do it and told me I would have to see someone else for that job. My boyfriend could barely tell my hair was trimmed, but he did mention it was a lot more even on the bottom so I guess that is good.
Helmut Lang never fails me in terms of casual luxury and comfort. The sweaters and tanks might be expensive, but they are very well made and you will find yourself wearing them again and again in all sorts of ways. I had to wait a long time to get this pointelle knit tank because my size was out of stock. I have been wanting to wear it for some time now, but it didn't work with the bottoms I tried to pair it with until I went for these shorts. This Helmug Lang tank features an asymmetric hem and some crochet paneling in a neat geometric pattern. It is made of mostly linen, but it really doesn't wrinkle at all. Underneath the tank I wore my other Itty Bitty Bra that Dorothy sent me. This bra is more typical of the bras I normally wear. It is lacy and has no underwire, making it perfect for sheer tops such as this one. I also like that it doesn't have any hooks because sometimes those can dig into my skin and be uncomfortable.
The Siwy shorts need no explanation. Siwy is probably my favorite brand of denim at the moment, especially for shorts. They are not too tight around my thighs and the fabric is very soft. Also, this particular pair is lighter weight than all my others. I like the gray color overall for a change from the usual blue denim. I paired the shorts with a J. Crew skinny green belt that was hanging around nearby and then I matched up some earrings to go with the belt. My earrings are sea glass and are handmade by Kori of Little Darling Designs. Her earrings are lightweight and are great for everyday wear. They are made for a woman on the go. For sandals, I wore my cork lace-up suede platforms by Derek Lam. I plan to wear these non-stop all the way into fall because nothing screams summer like a cork platform and I am not ready for fall fashion just yet.

I am taking this bright color trend for summer 2011 as far as I can by wearing this fluorescent pink Naven silk pleated mini skirt from Tea Leaf Clothing. It is a high quality skirt made right in Los Angeles. Paris Hilton has been seen rocking this skirt as well. What I really like about the skirt is the slanted pleating detail in the front. The back of the skirt zips up quite nicely and is not pleated. You can dress this skirt up to make it ultra sexy or dress it down for a casual daytime look, which is how I wore it. This was my first experience with Naven clothing and it will not be my last as the quality of the silk exceeded my expectations and the pleating was done in such a way that it added to the design of the skirt instead of taking away from it.
It is a higher rise skirt which is what made me want to pair it with this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent belt. The moment I saw this belt I knew I had to snag it. It has this beautiful fabric print that some might call tribal combined with a brown leather trim. I thought it helped to dress down the skirt and stay true to my bohemian style. I can see using this belt with so many different pieces in my closet.
I also wore a T by Alexander Wang plain white ribbed tank top that is slightly sheer. When you are wearing bright colors it is best to downplay them with some black or white. Underneath the Alexander Wang tank I am wearing a new brand of bra. Dorothy from Itty Bitty Bra was kind enough to send me two bras. Itty Bitty Bras are specifically designed for small busted women falling into the A and B cup range. I have never had much luck with strapless bras myself as they always fall down on me, but I was pleasantly surprised when wearing this strapless number by Itty Bitty Bra. It never fell down and stayed in place and it was also very comfortable. Sometimes strapless bras can dig into your skin due to all the underwire, but not this one. I especially like the "u" notch between the cups. It was voted the best strapless bra for small busted women by InStyle magazine as well.
To keep in line with the tribal print belt and daytime feel I wore my Givenchy woven leather wedge sandals. These sandals are so comfortable for walking around and running errands. I like that they have the detailed woven leather straps and they are a designer shoe, but they have that casual look that I adore. These Givenchy wedges can really take a lot of wear and tear out on the streets, but no one can deny all the artistry that went into them. I place a lot of faith in Givenchy shoes and they usually never disappoint me. The leather on them is always so exquisite.
