Free People Argyle Over The Knee Socks in Mustard - Snagged off FreePeople.com for $28 Retail
Since it has been raining cats and dogs here in Denver I decided it was the perfect time to pull out my Hunter Boots that I snagged off Gilt Groupe a couple years ago. These boots have not gotten a lot of use since Denver is usually dry all the time, but with all this rain I thought I should give them another try. I bought them in the tall version in a chocolate brown color. I do like the striping detail and buckle on this festival pair. The very first time I wore them was a couple years ago and I didn't wear socks with them, which was a big sweaty mistake. This time I remembered to wear some socks and decided this mustard yellow argyle pair from Free People would be perfect. I bought these socks a few years ago from the Free People website in all the colors they had available. I guess I have a thing for argyle and over the knee socks. This mustard yellow pair never got worn until now. I really like them with the Hunter Boots.
You saw me dress down these Alice + Olivia houndstooth cady cuff shorts last year with a shredded Raquel Allegra tee. This year I am really emphasizing their preppy nature by pairing them with the argyle over the knee socks and the oxford shirt. I think Alice + Olivia comes out with various versions of the cady cuff shorts because I own them in leather as well. They are a classy short with a good fit so I can see why they keep coming back year after year. Lorick is a brand that is often seen on Gossip Girl, but I didn't get the chance to purchase anything by Lorick until Gilt Groupe had a sale a couple of years ago. I bought this masculine oxford tie neck shirt in light blue. I wanted to go all out and actually make a little bow with the ties, but I decided I liked how they looked better untied. I never thought I would put houndstooth, argyle, and oxford together into one outfit. I guess the rain does funny things to you.
xoxo
