I snagged these Camilla Skovgaard cutout pony hair platform sandals for a steal during spring sales this year. It was too cold to wear them when I first got them, but now seems to be the perfect time to let them out of the box.

Sometimes you find the perfect dress, but it turns out to be sheer or see-through. Such is the case with this recent snag off Gilt Groupe. In other words, I now know why this dress was on sale for such a heavy discount. After much thought or barely any at all I paired it with my Only Hearts black lace trim bike shorts and Alexander Wang black knit bra. It seemed like the perfect solution to save this Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent dress from going into naughty territory. I like the sporty look it gave the bright pink dress. When my boyfriend first saw this dress he wasn't so hot on the color, but after we took the photos of me wearing it against all the green he was in love. It is such a bright pink it was hard to resist snagging it off of Gilt Groupe. I promised myself that I would wear the hell out of it this summer while bright colors were still in style. You never know what summer 2012 holds in store.
The dress also had a drawstring waist which I cleverly covered up because it seemed to bunch up the fabric too much around my waist. I used my new disc belt by Elegantly Waisted that I snagged off of Shopbop. For $64 this belt was a real steal. It is great quality and as you can see it can really change any look you are thinking of putting together. I love how it looks against the pink silk dress. I am wearing this Giles & Brother cuff every day and it matched perfectly with the pink dress and the brass belt. For shoes I wore black ankle boots. This pair by Fendi features pony hair and discreet studs. I have some favorites in the shoe department and these shoes are definitely a favorite in terms of comfort and style. The blue Chanel sunglasses add even more to the sporty look I gave the dress. I hope you like the colorful look and when in doubt about see-through dresses turn to bike shorts and sporty bras. It worked for me and it sure as hell can work for you as well.
