My boyfriend and I took these photos just before heading out of the house on one of the warmest days yet here in Denver.  I wore my new Rock & Republic alicia ankle boots.  These had just come in the mail and I could not wait to rip the box open.  I snagged them off of RueLaLa for such a low price during a recent sale.  Rock & Republic used to make their shoes in Italy, but now they are made in China.  I find the quality to still be very good, but the shoes are a little lighter than some of my Italian made ankle boots.  The price was right and I think they are so edgy and comfortable.  They have a leather cap toe and then more leather around the ankle and the rest is suede.  These also come in gray suede.  I haven't seen them around anywhere else for the same price I paid, but if you do some google searches these booties are still up for sale.  The zipper is a dagger, which I think makes the wedge unique.  You should join Rue La La if you haven't done so yet because the final sales are fabulous.

I wore my new wedges with a Spring & Clifton mini skirt.  I call this my jailbird skirt.  It is short and has black and white stripes and frankly I call it as I see it.  Spring & Clifton calls this a rumour mini skirt.  I guess we will have to compromise.  This was my first Spring & Clifton purchase and the quality is very good.  I saw the skirt pop up in the new arrivals section at Revolve Clothing and I am a sucker for a stretchy, body-comforming knit mini skirt so I snagged it immediately.  Stripes are always in and especially for summer.  The skirt is pretty thick and well-made so I will be watching for more things from Spring & Clifton in the future.

I wore the jailbird striped skirt with an LnA swing tank that Karina from Tea Leaf Clothing sent me.  This tank is best paired with a form-fitting bottom to really accentuate the hemline.  I really liked how it looked with the striped mini.  It is a basic top to have in your closet for summer and the jersey material is very soft against the skin.  For jewelry, I wore a vintage stone bracelet that hasn't come off my wrist all week and a CEEK jewelry hamsa diamond necklace in gold.

I love Wildfox Couture tees because they are oh so soft and comfy.  As you guys know, I am a sucker for cat tees or any type of animal face on a t-shirt so when I saw this asymmetrical hem cat t-shirt pop up on Revolve Clothing I snagged it right away.  Luckily they had a 15% off code so I could get somewhat of a discount on it, but I would have bought it either way because I think it is adorable.  I love the cat's deep blue eyes and the raw cut hemline makes it easy to pair with items that need to be dressed down or even plain old denim shorts.  Revolve Clothing is sold out of this Wildfox Couture digital cat tee at the moment, but you can find it on Tea Leaf Clothing as well.

I paired the cat top with a Pleasure Doing Business charcoal gray mini skirt that Tea Leaf Clothing sent me.  You have seen me rocking another Pleasure Doing Business skirt in gold with my YSL woodstock sandals.  I like this skirt in the gray color a lot because it is a nice alternative to my closet full of black skirts.  Gray is a great transition color into spring.  I think you could also pair this skirt with some bright reds or greens as the temperatures warm up.  This might be the perfect skirt to walk around Vegas in on my next trip.  The Pleasure Doing Business skirts are thick, yet very flexible and suck you in just enough.  I find them to be very comfortable and a great snag for a reasonable price as compared to the Herve Leger bandage skirts.

For accessories I wore a new pair of shoes I snagged back in November from the Outnet.  I am sure everyone knows how much I love Camilla Skovgaard by now so when I saw these suede cutout sandals pop up on the Outnet for 60% off I knew I had to snag them.  They were a sweet deal and I think they have just the right amount of sex appeal without being overly sexy.  The saw platform helps to take the edge off and also makes it much more comfortable to wear heels.  I think Camilla Skovgaard makes such comfortable shoes because she is a woman herself and knows what it is like to walk in a woman's shoes.  The design on these is very interesting and flattering to the foot due to the cutouts.  For jewelry I went with a vintage stone bracelet I snagged off eBay a couple years ago.  I really adore stone jewelry so this was a beautiful vintage piece I paid around $40 for because I fell in love with it.  I also like how it opens and closes, making it really easy to take on and off.

After wanting and stalking these Derek Lam lace-up ankle boots for months I finally succumbed to the Shopbop sale pressure and bought them.  They had one left in my size, which seems to always happen to me and for 50% off retail I could not resist.  I really like these boots because they are functional and so many of my shoes aren't.  I mean, in the end the purpose of shoes is to use them to get from one place to another.  You don't see many people walking around in vintage shoes.  They get old and the leather cracks.  Anyway, these Derek Lam cassandre boots came in different colors like black and a beige color, but I liked this color best and it is the only color Shopbop carried.  I believe Leighton Meester was spotted wearing the black version, while Joanna Hillman showed off her beige pair on The Coveteur website.  These are extremely comfortable and I wore them out to Ocean Prime with my boyfriend and some friends and they held up pretty well in the snow and ice.  I like the thick round laces as well and that they are easy to slip on.  The platform makes you taller without sacrificing comfort.  This is only my second pair of Derek Lam shoes.  I bought a Derek Lam lace-up sandal in the summer that I wore with a Free People dress. 

I stayed with the brown theme of the shoes and paired them with my sepia quilted leather shorts by Phillip Lim.  If you follow my blog you know that I also own these shorts in black.  Quilted leather shorts are the sort of thing you thought you never really needed, but once you have them in your wardrobe you realize how useful they can be.  They are warm and can be worn well into the winter with tights, but they can also be worn in the spring without tights.  I think Bergdorf Goodman or Neiman Marcus was the only place carrying these 3.1 Phillip Lim quilted leather shorts in brown.  I never saw the brown color anywhere else.  I figure I will have these shorts for a long time and the leather will get even more worn-in with age.  I paired the shorts with this LnA pocket tee that I wore on the blog a week ago.  It was lying out and a convenient choice when I only had a half hour to get ready.  I like mixing brown and black as I have said many times before.

I spiced things up in the jewelry department with this Avon necklace I snagged off eBay.  I don't get many items off eBay, but a couple summers ago I was really into snagging vintage jewelry off eBay and this Avon necklace claimed to be just that so I bought it.  I liked the peach stone color and the simplicity of it.  I know a lot of people and bloggers are into wearing stone rings, especially the ones by YSL, but I work with my hands all day and it isn't feasible for me to be wearing many, if any, rings.  This is the alternative I guess, stones on a chain.

Also, some readers seem curious about my shoe size and if I am wearing the correct size.  I assure you that I am wearing the right size.  I despise heel hang over and I am not the type of girl who will try to squeeze into a shoe that is too small.  I always go by the fit in the front of the shoe and if there is a little extra in the back, so be it.  You also have to take into account that shoes fit differently when you are wearing tights.

This look is really different from my last two posts, isn't it?  I can't make up my mind on any one style and I waver between edgy bad girl and feminine uptown girl.  These Fendi mary janes are supposed to look like wood and the heel is triangular.  I like them because they are so different and they are extremely girly.  I snagged this Isabel Lu dress off of Gilt because I cannot resist this seafoam color.  It is perfect for summer and of course I am holding onto summer for as long as I possibly can before fall is inevitable.  I saw this Autumn Cashmere knit flower vest on Revolve, but I did not want to pay full price so I was happy to see it pop up on Hautelook for a lot less.  I love the flower detailing on the back of it and you can throw it on over almost anything.  The only thing that bothers me about both leather and sweater vests is the fact that they are sleeveless, yet warm.  This makes them impossible to wear in the heat due to the material and impossible to wear in the cold due to the missing sleeves.  Maybe they are perfect for fall or just for layering purposes.  It seems contradictory, yet I keep accumulating more of these creations.  I finished off the look with the first pair of Chanel sunglasses my boyfriend ever bought me and a vintage buckle bracelet.  Last summer I had a weird obsession with buckle bracelets and eBay.  Thankfully that is over! I have been helping my nephew all morning with a personal narrative he has due today and it makes me wonder why I never went into teaching.

As you all know, I have a love affair with rompers.  I saw this one and knew it was meant for me.  I know Anna Sui for all her beautiful print dresses in splashy colors, but I did not know she could do eyelet in a romper so well.  The inside of this romper, the green lining, is actually similar to a sports jersey material which I find pretty cool.  I snagged this vintage enamel bracelet with chain detail on eBay last year and it seemed like a good accessory for this outfit.  My favorite black wedges came out to play one more time.  These will be great in the fall with tights also.

Vintage Gold Mesh Stone Bracelet - Snagged off Ebay.com for ?

These Dolce & Gabbana lace boots were one of my first purchases of the sale season this year.  The photos on department store websites did not really do them justice.  They are very comfortable due to the mesh material and I like them even more than I originally thought I would when I bought them.  I was so happy to see this sheer polka dot blouse by Elizabeth and James go on sale on the Shopbop website.  It had been on my hearts list forever.  Shopbop's heart function has become one of my favorite shopping features.  It is hard not to wear my Siwy denim shorts in every post.  It is so hot here in Denver you really don't want to wear much else and Siwy shorts are so soft.  Last summer I was into snagging vintage jewelry off Ebay and I found this beautiful bracelet.  I thought it looked so good with this shirt and even sorta matched the victorian looking Dolce and Gabbana boots.
