There are so many athletic inspired pieces available to buy right now and I am not complaining. I love all the scuba tops I've been seeing so when I saw this sweater by Derek Lam in white I knew it would be perfect for spring. I paired it with my high-waisted red leather shorts, leopard ankle strap pumps, and a tiny gold ring. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.
These Derek Lam ankle boots are one of my favorite pairs of boots. They are functional for Denver winters and easy to slip on and off.

I went to the salon to get my hair trimmed with my favorite girl Shirley and then met up with my boyfriend who snapped these photos afterward. Shirley really liked my shoes and she has no idea how many pairs I actually own, nor does she know about Fashion Snag. Sometimes I am tempted to tell her, but I am really good at keeping secrets. Shirley is afraid to cut too many inches off my hair, but whenever I go in I tell her to cut off as much as she wants. I was sort of hoping she would chop off about 6 inches, but she didn't want to do it and told me I would have to see someone else for that job. My boyfriend could barely tell my hair was trimmed, but he did mention it was a lot more even on the bottom so I guess that is good.
Helmut Lang never fails me in terms of casual luxury and comfort. The sweaters and tanks might be expensive, but they are very well made and you will find yourself wearing them again and again in all sorts of ways. I had to wait a long time to get this pointelle knit tank because my size was out of stock. I have been wanting to wear it for some time now, but it didn't work with the bottoms I tried to pair it with until I went for these shorts. This Helmug Lang tank features an asymmetric hem and some crochet paneling in a neat geometric pattern. It is made of mostly linen, but it really doesn't wrinkle at all. Underneath the tank I wore my other Itty Bitty Bra that Dorothy sent me. This bra is more typical of the bras I normally wear. It is lacy and has no underwire, making it perfect for sheer tops such as this one. I also like that it doesn't have any hooks because sometimes those can dig into my skin and be uncomfortable.
The Siwy shorts need no explanation. Siwy is probably my favorite brand of denim at the moment, especially for shorts. They are not too tight around my thighs and the fabric is very soft. Also, this particular pair is lighter weight than all my others. I like the gray color overall for a change from the usual blue denim. I paired the shorts with a J. Crew skinny green belt that was hanging around nearby and then I matched up some earrings to go with the belt. My earrings are sea glass and are handmade by Kori of Little Darling Designs. Her earrings are lightweight and are great for everyday wear. They are made for a woman on the go. For sandals, I wore my cork lace-up suede platforms by Derek Lam. I plan to wear these non-stop all the way into fall because nothing screams summer like a cork platform and I am not ready for fall fashion just yet.

We took these photos right before heading out the door to a pool party at a friend's house. Of course I brought along some flip flops for comfortable lounging, but heels always look better for photos. Rachel from Bikini Thief was kind enough to let me pick out a swimsuit to model on Fashion Snag. I had never heard of Bikini Thief swimwear before Rachel contacted me, but now I know I will definitely be buying some of their bikinis in the future. I picked out the electric blue and black string bikini that was spotted on Kim Kardashian. She wore the coral colored version and looked amazing in it. Rachel sent it with this cute little Bikini Thief palm tree covered bag to store your wet bikini so your other clothing stays dry. I am a huge fan of string bikinis like this one since I am not that well endowed on top. You can tie them however you want and they always fit. I also like leopard as I am sure you have noticed by now. It was a no-brainer for me to pick out this swimsuit. Kate Bosworth was also recently spotted in a retro-looking Bikini Thief bikini. The celebrities really love Bikini Thief.
Kori of Little Darlings Hawaii contacted me about her jewelry line and let me pick out some pieces to style on Fashion Snag. She makes amazing jewelry using natural stones and sea glass she finds on the beaches of Hawaii. Her delicate creations suit my beachy bohemian style perfectly. I wore these ophelia earrings from her summer collection that have the perfect black colors to match the bikini. The earrings are so light I forget I am even wearing them. I thought the best way to style one of the jewelry pieces would be with a bikini since they are Hawaiian inspired. Next time I hope I will be wearing both the bikini and the earrings in Hawaii. It has been way too long.
I wore the bikini with my Nightcap Clothing crochet shorts in black. I wore these same shorts in white about a week ago with my Aguaclara swimsuit. It has been so hot that it is hard to cover up with much more. I like how delicate the crochet is on these shorts and the ribbon tie ensures a perfect fit every time. I also have a Nightcap Clothing crochet cover up top with a hoodie in white that I have to wear next time I am in a swimsuit. These Derek Lam lace-up cork platform sandals are great for beachy summer outfits such as this one. I think these are my only pair of shoes with a cork platform. The rope lace-up detailing adds to the feel of this summer shoe. I think these would work so well on a boat or yacht.

Derek Lam Cassandre Lace-Up Clog Booties in Dark Brown/Tobacco - Worn before here with 3.1 Phillip Lim quilted leather shorts and here with BB Dakota bostwick jacket
A.L.C. Twisty T Dress in Green - Snagged off Shopbop.com for $220 (Retail: $350) and similiar sleeveless twisty dress by A.L.C. worn before here with Jil Sander asymmetric sandals and 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket
Adam Shearling-Trimmed Leather Aviator Jacket in Camel - Worn before here with Miu Miu ankle boots
Vintage Stone Cuff Bracelet - Gift from friend
A.L.C. makes some of the most flattering dresses due to the ruching detail. I own a striped sleeveless green one that I wore in the fall and linked to above, but when I saw this long sleeve green dress by A.L.C. go on sale at Shopbop I could not resist adding another one to my closet. Green is a good color for me and I like the earthy vibes so I tend to be drawn to pieces that give me that good feeling and this dress did just that. I like that it is long sleeved so I can wear it in the spring and winter. A.L.C. dresses are pretty thick because they consist of two layers to get that ruching just right. They are great quality and you won't have any seams ripping or coming apart when you slip them on despite the fact that they are so form-fitting. If you don't own an A.L.C. dress I suggest you start stalking one until it goes on sale so you can snag it. These are also easy breezy dresses to pack in your suitcase for quick trips. You can dress this one down as I did here or dress it up with some stilettos.
I dressed the A.L.C. twisty t dress down by pairing it with some clog booties. These Derek Lam ankle boots scream casual and comfortable so that is why you will always find me wearing them. They are even more adorable in person. They have the perfect round thick laces that I know will never wear down and I can slip them on pretty easily. Also, you can keep the cuff part on the top folded down or you can cuff it up, sorta like what preppy people do with their polo shirts. I have yet to cuff them up, but that might happen the next time I wear them. I added my favorite Amelia Earhart jacket by Adam. This aviator shearling trimmed classic in camel had me as soon as I saw it walking down the runway. I snagged it the minute it was up for sale. I wore this Adam aviator jacket on the blog before with a gray dress, but this time I wanted to mix the camel color with olive green and I really like this effect as well. The shearling trim is removable on this jacket, which turns it into just a basic leather aviator jacket. For accessories I like to keep it simple and I pulled out my vintage stone cuff bracelet that was a gift from a dear friend. I love this bracelet because of the color combination of the stones. It has a big beautiful turquoise stone front and center.
