This Kimberly Ovitz dress is essentially a shiny silk wrap. It is the perfect basic and every Kimberly Ovitz piece I buy I truly adore.
Sometimes you just want to feel glamorous and sophisticated and the best way to do that is to start with a silky black dress. This one hugs the body ever so slightly and is basically a wrap dress. It has an extra edge thanks to the shiny finish and the way it hangs. Opaque tights and some knee high boots with a high heel finish off the basic look. To take it up a notch for glitzy holiday appeal add a faux fur stole or scarf, an oversized clutch, and a gold statement ring. You can always start with a little black dress and tights and then let your imagination go wild in the accessories department. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.
It was cold enough in Denver, Colorado one day to pull out this faux fur coat I snagged off Etsy for an incredible price. Paired with some hot pink and leopard it created the perfect ensemble to brighten up a gloomy day. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.

I wanted this Alexander Wang lace shirt for as long as I can remember, but the price tag left a sour taste in my mouth. I didn't know why it was priced so high. Finally, Shopbop marked it down to a somewhat reasonable price for me and they had one left in my size so I snagged it. When I pulled it out of the package I knew exactly why it was so expensive. The felt sleeves are really heavy and the lace is intricate and detailed, yet very strong. I really like how the sleeves are longer than my arms because that rarely happens. I feel like a kid playing dress up when I wear this shirt. Anyway, I don't think this shirt will ever snag. It is one of those items that looks delicate from afar, but up close you can tell it is made really well. The felt details are what I fell for as they are what makes this lace shirt stand out from a million other lace shirts. Plus, the seam details on the shirt nip in around your waist, which makes it very flattering. Underneath the lace shirt I had to wear the T by Alexander Wang ponte criss cross bra. I really like the two pieces together. I can tell my closet is being taken over by Alexander Wang, but I consider that to be a good thing and I am not complaining.
I wore a Deep in Vogue black tulle skirt on the bottom. This skirt is high waisted and very flattering due to the tulle. I bought it from gruhche on Etsy. I own many items from her store and they are all fantastic quality. The skirt was only $35 as well, which is a real steal in my book. As you can see, I didn't take this Avon peach stone pendant necklace off all week. It seemed to go with everything and I like the light pop of color it added to every outfit. It was also a steal for around 20 dollars on eBay. Last but certainly not least are the Miu Miu pumps. These are leg elongators due to the 'v' in the front. I cannot wait until it is warm enough to wear them without tights or leggings. They are phenomenal and I can see why they sold out so fast. Miu Miu usually never fails me in terms of their shoe collections.

These boots from last year are one of my favorite shoe designs by Alexander Wang. I know they have a new version out now that lacks a zipper and has some whipstitching, but I am still totally in love with these. They are edgy and comfortable and you can change the way they look just by flipping up or folding down the outer layer of leather. I have worn them twice before on the blog, both times with dresses, but this is the first time I have worn them with a skirt and tights. I remember that I snagged these Freja boots off of Shopbop when they first arrived because I saw that they were going pretty fast. Usually I can hold out on shoes and clothing until it gets marked down, but if I think something is going to sell out I snag it right away. Most of the time I don't regret purchases like that because I know I really love them if I am willing to pay full price. Rihanna was seen rocking these Alexander Wang freja zip ankle boots last year.
I paired the boots with a great snag off of Gilt Groupe. This Tart leather skirt was calling my name, but I didn't really know anything about the brand so I hesitated. Also, sometimes leather and jersey together isn't such a good mix. Then I thought I might as well try it and if it didn't work out I could always return it to Gilt for free and get an account credit. Well, I was more than happy when this skirt arrived in the mail. It fit perfectly and it is very comfortable. I really like the fact that the jersey is in the back and it is very stretchy. I guess I will have to re-think my opinion on jersey and leather combination pieces. I think I will definitely be getting more clothing by Tart in the future as the skirt is very well made. I found photos of Audrina Patridge wearing this skirt to an event as well.
I kept the streamlined look going by tucking in a long v-neck sweater from Abercrombie. I am really into burgundy colored things lately. I own this sweater in a variety of colors because it went on sale for a really cheap price and I think it is a classic piece. I know fashion rules tell you to go baggy on top if you are wearing something form-fitting on the bottom and vice versa, but sometimes I like to make up my own rules. My mantra is that if it feels good, wear it. This felt really comfortable and flattering, but still edgy due to the Alexander Wang boots. To keep warm I added this beautiful scarf in a rust color that I bought off Etsy from Vera of Deep in Vogue. I cannot help but pair this scarf with burgundy every time I wear it. Last time, it was burgundy suede pants by Rag & Bone and this time it was a burgundy sweater.
