This white leather skirt with black jersey side panels really has me excited for spring. There are endless styling possibilities with this skirt and my first attempt was to pair it with a neon tank. A lacy black racer back bralette adds an extra sexy layer underneath. Silver glitter and black suede ankle boots along with a crystal bangle finished off the outfit. Somehow I have the feeling that the patent leather on these would make them the perfect rain boot, but I don't know if I am willing to test out that theory since they were still an expensive shoe to buy even on sale.
To brighten up the darker winter days I like to wear bright colors so this Tibi sweater in a vibrant hot pink has come in pretty handy. Pairing it with a ruched skirt that can be adjusted from T by Alexander Wang and a patent leather studded bracelet by CC Skye toughened up the look. The patent leather Alaia shoes are my favorite part of the outfit though. They are so comfortable and they really make any outfit look edgy. I am loving all the bright colors for spring and I noticed a lot of others are loving them as well so when I received this melon button down shirt by LnA I couldn't wait to style it. I rolled up the sleeves for a more casual look. I always forget how much rolling up the sleeves on a blazer, button down shirt, or even a basic tee can change the entire feel of the item. When I saw the navy Pleasure Doing Business skirt lying nearby I knew I had to pair it with the orange shirt. Orange and blue look so good together. I also think the raglan shirt dresses down the sexiness of the bandage skirt. I am a little addicted to these Pleasure Doing Business skirts because they are extremely versatile and I think they would be perfect for a Caribbean vacation, especially in some brighter colors. They are thicker than they look and pretty well made.
For shoes I wore my latest Camilla Skovgaard wedges. Gilt Groupe recently had a Camilla Skovgaard sale and I love my black wedge ankle boots to death so when I saw them in gray suede I knew I had to snag them. I am a little worried about getting them dirty though. They are my most comfortable shoes and I know I will wear them a lot. With shoes it is so important to make sure that they won't hurt your feet. Even if you think you absolutely need them, it isn't worth the pain or the money to buy a pair that have you keeling over by the end of the night. Plus, there are some pretty scary photos of mangled feet on Google images that really freak me out. There are always new styles coming out so just wait around and find the perfect pair. I can guarantee that Camilla Skovgaard shoes are almost always comfortable. For jewelry I wore this CC Skye bangle that looks pretty glitzy. I think it added a dressy touch to the casual and sporty vibe of the outfit.

Well, today has been quite the eventful day for two reasons. Number one is that I am featured in a New York newspaper called amNewYork. You can see the online version of the article here. I want to give a huge thanks to Perrie, the style editor, for asking me to be a part of this feature. It is an honor to be featured next to so many fabulous bloggers.
Another interesting thing happened to me today. My boyfriend and I were snapping photos around town like we usually do and this time we happened to be near a house where an older gentleman had once lived. He recently passed away and I only know this because suddenly the huge stuffed tiger he usually left sitting by his mailbox was gone and the N was removed from the garage door. I am a very observant person and I had spoken with this man before on one of my daily walks. He had a huge black cat that roamed the property and I would always ask him about it. I knew he was gone for sure when they were having an estate sale at his property. Since he's been gone I have hounded my boyfriend constantly by asking him, "What do you think happened to that guy's cat? Do you think any family or friends took it in?" I love cats and I was worried about what had happened to this man's best friend. Well, today when I was out there in my Alaia hiking boots I got my answer. The cat came walking down that driveway right towards me and I knew right away it was him. Sure, he was a few pounds lighter and meowing incessantly, but it was him. We went back home and brought him some cat food and water. I will be back to check on him tomorrow and all the days after that. He needs a home.
