My boyfriend says I look like the good witch in this outfit. I hope so! I wore a different lace dress earlier in the year by Nightcap Clothing except it was shorter. They make the most beautiful and durable lace dresses. This lace will not snag easily and that makes me happy. I usually try to stay away from long dresses, but when I saw this beauty go on sale on the Shopbop website I was smitten. The model didn't really do it justice. I think she was wearing a size too big for her or something. I really like how the lining doesn't go all the way down to the hem on this dress. It stops about mid-thigh, which I think is very flattering. I am sure everyone else was on the hunt for sheer maxi skirts like I was so this dress sort of filled the need for that. I think if this dress was made into a skirt with the lining ending exactly where it does now, it would be killer. What do you think? I also like the chain embellishment on the back of the dress and the open back, seductive yet still classy.
Whenever I wear long dresses I always feel bad about the shoes. You sort of miss them if you don't look hard enough. I went for something different and chose my Miu Miu studded ankle boots. Somehow stilettos look wrong with a long dress and I liked how the studs roughened up the sweet lace. I felt bottom heavy so I grabbed my trusty hat I got from Cabelas to even things out. All I need to go outside is a heavy faux fur coat and I am set.
