Believe it or not, we haven't had many beautiful days this spring to take outdoor photos for Fashion Snag. I am happy to have the studio so I can always photograph whatever outfits I am feeling that day, but I don't think anything can compare to the landscape of Colorado in an outdoor shoot. It can be a cool day in Denver, but if the sun is shining it will warm you up just enough to feel comfortable. I snagged this Haute Hippie suede western shirt off of Shopbop for 50% off. I always wanted a suede button down shirt even though it is an impractical item to own in terms of laundering and wearing a lot. I like that this shirt is fitted for a more feminine look. This one has wings on the back near the top and an HH emblazoned across for Haute Hippie. To tell you the truth, I could have done without the HH, but in all other respects I am in love with the shirt. It is a brown color, which is great for Colorado and fits in with the western theme. A black suede shirt might seem a little too dressy. I have to say that Haute Hippie makes such beautiful pieces. I can see myself in all their collections, but the prices are high so I like to wait for a sale on most items.
When I was looking for a sleeveless white dress to go with this suede brown shirt I ran into a real big problem. All my white dresses had sleeves, which would not work with the fitted sleeves of the shirt. All the other white dresses were not what I had in mind as well so I settled on the one dress I could find, which is actually a dress I purchased at the Tucker Brown boutique in Aspen, Colorado last year. I photographed it for Fashion Snag as well so you can see how I wore it in the last post. It worked pretty well once I layered it over my Only Hearts nude slip since it is sheer, but I realized I need some more sleeveless white summer dresses in my closet. I then wore black opaque tights because it still isn't warm enough on most days to go bare legged even though I would really love to let my white legs get some sun. I finished off the look with my brown ruched Brian Atwood ankle boots. I guess Cameron Diaz owns these ankle boots as well and she wore them with jeans. I will try that next time. For jewelry I kept it simple as I usually do and wore a necklace that was given to me last year from Jitni. It has a fabric tie and a green stone flower. I think it was actually perfect for this outfit and I like how I styled it this time more than the first time I wore it. We never run out of beautiful places to shoot and fences always make for pretty photos.
