Alaia Studded Suede Sandals
These colorful Alaia studded suede sandals called for an all black ensemble. I happily obliged by wearing BB Dakota crochet shorts and an open back tee from A.L.C. made of the softest material. BB Dakota Macyn Lace Skirt
As soon as warmer temps hit Denver, Colorado I start wearing antique white lace pieces and lots of them. Nothing gets me quite in the mood for spring and summer like lace skirts and shorts. This tiered lace skirt from BB Dakota has the perfect fit as well as the perfect price. To offset the sweetness of the skirt I paired it with an asymmetric open knit sweater from Kimberly Ovitz. I always love it when I find a brand or designer who makes really cute, trendy pieces at reasonable prices. BB Dakota is that brand for me. I have a few items from them and I have always been impressed by the quality. The fact that they didn't cost me an arm and a leg only sweetened the deal. This BB Dakota Navajo jacket caught my eye months ago, but I had a hard time tracking it down as it sold out relatively quickly from major websites like Shopbop and Nasty Gal. Well, as luck would have it I was on my computer when some new arrivals came in at Revolve Clothing and this coat was among the new items. I checked out as fast as I could and used a nifty 20% off code that was floating around. Needless to say, I am very pleased with my bostwick jacket. The jacket itself is relatively thin so it is good for chilly weather, but if you want to wear it for colder weather you can do what I did and layer it over a nice funnel neck zipper sweater. I really like the colors in this jacket and if you know anything about my love for Navajo cardigans as displayed on the blog then you probably knew that acquiring this coat was a natural progression. The other item I own by BB Dakota that I have worn on the blog is this beautiful lace skirt. Even though I didn't spend a large sum of money on the skirt or the jacket, I love both items so much that I cannot see me giving them away anytime soon. They also both filled a void in my wardrobe.
The Ami Dans La Rue sweater was a snag from the Shopbop 70% off section. I wore a gray version of the same sweater a couple of weeks ago on the blog. I don't know how all the Ami Dans La Rue stuff ended up in the final sale section at Shopbop, but rest assured if you purchase a piece it will be beautiful and something you can use fairly often in different outfits. What I did here was layer my funnel neck sweater coat underneath the Navajo jacket so I was plenty warm on a cold night. What I really like about this outfit are all the beige and brown colors mixed together. You really don't need a lot of other patterns and prints going on when you are wearing this beautiful toggle coat.

This is my first outfit with the Charlotte Olympia suede leaf boots, which are actually quite comfortable due to the platform. I thought the lace skirt detailing complemented the leaf detailing on the shoes. This BB Dakota skirt is actually one of my favorite skirts and it wasn't that expensive. I think it is pretty well made and it fits me perfectly. It is on sale at Karmaloop right now with a few sizes left if you are interested. I paid full price, but it was definitely worth it. I have a few other things from BB Dakota that I will debut on the blog soon. I paired my skirt with this Topshop cropped tank that I bought brand new from Rumi Neely of Fashiontoast for $28. I can tell I am going to be wearing this top a lot this summer since it is so sheer and lightweight. The heels have some gold-tone studs on the front so I pulled out this Dannijo cascading necklace to match them. I think these shoes would also look great with an emerald green outfit. We didn't get a photo of it this time, but the shoes have a gold spider web emblem on the bottom. The shoe box they came in also has a spider web on the lid. I think I will be buying more shoes from Charlotte Olympia in the future.
In other news, we have been biking a lot so I have a little tan in these photos even though I wear SPF 85. I am addicted to homemade banana muffins and we have managed to munch through two batches already. The blue vase in these photos was snagged off Gilt Group Home. Isn't it beautiful? My studded chest I ordered months ago was finally delivered today and I am in love with it. I will do a shoot with it soon because I think it will match my Miu Miu studded boots perfectly!
