This look pretty much sums up what Pendleton is all about and I think the song suits the outfit perfectly as well. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.

A.L.C. Pleated Leather Skirt in Brown - Snagged off Shopbop.com for $425 Retail
Chanel Pearl Sunglasses in Blue - Gift from Boyfriend
Have I told you how much I love A.L.C.? I am slowly building a nice collection of A.L.C. pieces and this leather pleated skirt is my latest addition. As soon as it made its debut on Shopbop.com I knew I had to have it. It is different from the usual leather skirt in that it is brown with a contrasting black waistband. Also, the leather is paper thin, making the skirt light as air. You cannot say that about most leather skirts. I like that it is brown because most leather items are done in black. The only bad thing I must mention is that Shopbop did a horrible job with the packaging. The skirt was all bent up when I got it because they put it alone in a box with no packing material! The box was also bent up because the skirt was so light and there was nothing to weigh it down. It is a little wrinkled up and you can't really steam leather, but I figure it is going to get wrinkled up every time I wear it out and sit in it anyway. I just thought I would mention it because Shopbop now has a place where you can rate their packaging.
It would have been easy and oh so simple to pair this with a white button down shirt by a brand named Equipment or even a white tee, but I had to do something out of the ordinary otherwise I get bored. I thought this red cropped sweater mixed so well with the brown of the skirt. The sweater is slightly longer in the back and shorter in the front, a sort of hi lo hybrid you could say. You have seen this exact cashmere sweater before a few posts back in charcoal. Somehow every color of this Ami Dans La Rue sweater ended up in the 70% off section at Shopbop. I feel sorry for pieces that end up there and anything that has any semblance of character I try to pick up and see what I can do with it. However, these sweaters are basic pieces. A cropped cashmere sweater in every color? Yes please!
These Alaia boots are one of my favorite pairs of black ankle boots. I like black ankle boots a lot and I probably say that about every pair, but the leather braiding on these makes them unique and it doesn't hurt that the zipper has ALAIA emblazoned all over it. I am all over that! These boots have a unique shape, maybe a fierce shape, that says don't walk all over me just because I am wearing a leather pleated schoolgirl skirt. I may look sweet, but I can definitely kick your ass if needed. The Chanel pearl sunglasses were part of the sweet and innocent look as well. I fell for these hook, line, and sinker at the Chanel boutique in Las Vegas. I talked about them for days and days until the boyfriend broke down and found me a brand spankin new pair at a different boutique. They scream Jackie O, don't ya think?

I am in love with everything Kimberly Ovitz does! I swear, she can do no wrong. I stalked this skirt for oh so long wondering if it would be flattering or not. I really wanted to snag it right away as I know how high quality and beautiful Kimberly Ovitz's pieces are, but I waited around. Luckily, the burnout silk maxi velvet skirt got marked down in my size and I was able to snag it. As soon as I took it out of the package it was love at first sight. The fabric is beyond gorgeous and so is the velvet burnout pattern. It has a beautiful fishtail hem, but is more fitted near the top, which makes it quite flattering on curves. I had an idea to take some photos with the stool and some without for a different look.
I paired it with this Ami Dans La Rue cashmere cropped sweater in a nice gray color that I snagged in the 70% off section of Shopbop. I swear, I do not know how it ended up there. The sweater is really soft and perfect for items such as this skirt and anything else high-waisted. I was going for a romantic, tousled hair, just out of bed look if that makes any sense. For accessories I wore this R.J. Graziano multi-strand pearl necklace. I get way more use out of this piece than I ever thought I would. It is easy to put on as well. I wore my Miu Miu platform ankle boots, the taller version, to complete the look. These are my go-to ankle boots for flares, bell bottoms, and long skirts and dresses. They always work and I only saw them sold on Net-a-Porter. I just realized I wore burnout velvet silk in two posts in a row. I guess I really like it.

BB Dakota Bostwick Coat in Camel Beige - Find it here
Ami Dans La Rue Funnel Neck Sweater Coat in Pale Oatmeal - See gray version worn here with Balmain boots and belt
*For details on the rest of my outfit see previous post.
I always love it when I find a brand or designer who makes really cute, trendy pieces at reasonable prices. BB Dakota is that brand for me. I have a few items from them and I have always been impressed by the quality. The fact that they didn't cost me an arm and a leg only sweetened the deal. This BB Dakota Navajo jacket caught my eye months ago, but I had a hard time tracking it down as it sold out relatively quickly from major websites like Shopbop and Nasty Gal. Well, as luck would have it I was on my computer when some new arrivals came in at Revolve Clothing and this coat was among the new items. I checked out as fast as I could and used a nifty 20% off code that was floating around. Needless to say, I am very pleased with my bostwick jacket. The jacket itself is relatively thin so it is good for chilly weather, but if you want to wear it for colder weather you can do what I did and layer it over a nice funnel neck zipper sweater. I really like the colors in this jacket and if you know anything about my love for Navajo cardigans as displayed on the blog then you probably knew that acquiring this coat was a natural progression. The other item I own by BB Dakota that I have worn on the blog is this beautiful lace skirt. Even though I didn't spend a large sum of money on the skirt or the jacket, I love both items so much that I cannot see me giving them away anytime soon. They also both filled a void in my wardrobe.
The Ami Dans La Rue sweater was a snag from the Shopbop 70% off section. I wore a gray version of the same sweater a couple of weeks ago on the blog. I don't know how all the Ami Dans La Rue stuff ended up in the final sale section at Shopbop, but rest assured if you purchase a piece it will be beautiful and something you can use fairly often in different outfits. What I did here was layer my funnel neck sweater coat underneath the Navajo jacket so I was plenty warm on a cold night. What I really like about this outfit are all the beige and brown colors mixed together. You really don't need a lot of other patterns and prints going on when you are wearing this beautiful toggle coat.

Velvet Ella Tunic in White - Snagged off Shopbop.com for $58 Retail
Ami Dans La Rue Funnel Neck Sweater Coat in Black Marled - Snagged off Shopbop.com for $97.50 (Retail: $325)
I wanted to get back to basics and no-fuss dressing so I pulled out my trusty Express black opaque tights and my favorite shorts of all time, these Siwy black denim madeline cut-offs complete with pocket hangover. Whenever I travel I bring some tights with me and a couple pairs of shorts, including black ones like these. It makes getting dressed easier in the morning, especially when you don't want to think too much about it. Shopbop had markdowns a week or so ago and although this Velvet tunic was not included in the sale section I bought it anyway along with a few other items. It was a pretty good haul in terms of stocking up on basics. This Velvet white tee has been on my wish list for a long time and I liked the longer length. I thought it was a basic and I wanted to get it before it sold out. Well, today I checked and sure enough it was gone. For only $58 it is perfection and soft as ever. I find most of the items from the Velvet line to be very soft to the touch. I also picked up the tunic in black and I see they still have that color available in a couple of sizes.
Along with the Velvet tunic, I picked up this Ami Dans La Rue funnel neck sweater. This had been on my wish list for a long time as well and it finally made its way to the 70% off section. I don't even know how it landed in there. I know they featured this sweater in a Shopbop look book along with a few other pieces from Ami Dans La Rue. It is gorgeous so buy it if you can. They have it in a white oatmeal color and in black as well. People were complaining in the reviews about the pockets not being sewn to the inside of the coat, but trust me, you won't care. It doesn't make a difference to me at least. It is soft and another basic piece that is going to be worn to death. Ami Dans La Rue is a new line to Shopbop, but I am definitely going back for more and I hope they continue to carry this line. Please check it out if you can because they have lots of items in the 70% off section.
For accessories I went all out on the Balmain to really elevate the basic look. I get lots of e-mails from people wanting to buy items that I have worn on the blog, including this Balmain bullet belt. Unfortunately, you will not see me opening up a shop selling anything. I donate my items when I am through with them or give them away. The Balmain bullet belt will probably never make it to the thrift store. I bought it from Browns Fashion website and it was quite the hassle to order from there for some reason. However, it came in flawless condition and quickly. If it was easier to complete the order online from Browns I would definitely shop there more. I got it for a discounted price, but it was still relatively expensive. I have worn it twice before on the blog and each time I styled it a different way. To say the least, I am obsessed with this belt. For some strange reason, I always wanted a bullet belt. I feel stronger when I am wearing it too, probably because it could be dangerous.
The Balmain lace-up canvas boots were a real snag at the Neiman Marcus here in Denver. I guess they had just had some items come in from some other stores and I found these in my size. I felt so lucky because I love Balmain. You know I am a sucker for all the lace-up boots. I think the green canvas and the way you can tie the laces on these really adds to their military appeal. The military trend is something you will see me dipping into pretty often in my outfits.
