You can incorporate white pieces into your wardrobe in the fall and winter. Don't be afraid to try it. It can be fun to wear lots of black, but adding some white to that will really be a testament to your styling capabilities. This fuzzy angora Nili Lotan sweater is just the piece to spice up your fall and winter closet. You can wear it with any of your black or burgundy leather pieces. It looks amazing when paired with leather items. I like to pair this sweater with leather because it sheds. That is the price you pay when you wear an angora sweater. Fuzzies will be flying everywhere, but if you can get past the shedding you will love it. The sweater itself is cozy, oversized, and oh so soft. Also, the thing about pairing angora with leather is that the fuzzies will not stick to the leather. You pair this sweater with any other fabric and you will need a lint roller. You will see me rocking this sweater again soon with more of my leather items.
I paired it with my Alice + Olivia leather leggings that I snagged last year. These leggings are still available for sale year after year. They are a classic item. See how I wore them in a winter whites look last year here. You can also see them worn here with an emerald green sweater. I love the fit of these leggings. They are not too long and they are easy to get into and out of. They have a front zip that makes all of this easier so you don't have to do a lot of tugging. I would highly recommend investing in a pair of leather pants or leather leggings for the colder weather. They just get better with age.
On my arm is another white piece that I incorporated for the fall and winter weather. It is a Tarzia Khan tote bag with python and reptile embossed leather. Isn't it gorgeous? The metallic flecks on the bag catch the light and make it look amazing. I love how lightweight this tote bag is as well. I think this bag could go just as well with bohemian looks in the summer as it does here with a fall/winter whites look. It is so versatile and the quality is excellent. Never underestimate the power of a white bag. It definitely makes you stand out in a sea of black ones this time of year.
The weather the day I wore this look was all over the place. In the shade it was really cold and in the sun it was warm. Due to this I ended up wearing some Alaia mary jane pumps that show a little skin in the front. I don't know how much longer I will be able to get away with this, but I will go with it for as long as possible. I don't think these shoes will look as good with opaque tights. They are really comfortable despite the sky high heel and I love how they look with the leather leggings. Overall I like the mix of textures in this look.
This is an everyday casual look for a hot day in fall. Try laser cut leather shorts with your favorite white tee and bag. Add some interesting wedges and sunglasses to finish off the ensemble. Shop the entire look below. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.
We got lucky and had another day that felt like summer so I took advantage of it. I snagged these Alice + Olivia thin leather shorts over the summer, but they were way too hot to wear back then. Now the temperature is hovering around 70 degrees, which makes thin leather shorts entirely possible. These are beautiful thanks to the laser-cut leather and nude lining. They have intricate detailing and they don't add any bulk to the body. They also feature a sturdy black zipper up the back, which makes them easy to take off and on. How many times have we struggled with those tiny and flimsy side zippers that can easily break with a little tug?
So many pants and shorts require wiggling and maneuvering to get into so I appreciate the fact that these shorts are built for someone with a butt and waist. I am sure many of you have had those days when you are jumping around trying to get into your skinny jeans or maybe it's just me. Sometimes I am doing squats to get my butt into skinny jeans. They also can be tight around the calves. These shorts are loose around the thighs, which gives the appearance of smaller legs. I hate when dress shorts squeeze my thighs or there is very little breathing room. If I love them I can overlook that, but it isn't the best situation.
To keep the focus on the beautiful shorts I decided to dress them down for an edgy everyday look. Now I know you could easily dress up these beautiful shorts with a silk blouse and colorful pumps. I just wanted to show you a different side to them. The best way to dress down any bottoms that seem too dressy is to pair them with a worn white tee. This never fails and you have seen me do it dozens of times on this blog. The T-shirt doesn't even have to be white. It can be black or whatever color you like. Just know that having some basic tees around can always come in handy so you get more use out of your dressy bottoms. If you have a sequin skirt or sequin pants you can always throw on a tee to make them appropriate for daytime. My current favorite tee is the one I am wearing above from R13. You can find it here.
To add even more edge to the look I wore my small Chanel boy bag. The chain strap is really what gives the bag an edgy look. You can wear this bag across your body or over one shoulder. It is lightweight and really durable. The wedges are an old favorite of mine. Some of you may remember them from way back when. See how I wore them back in 2010 here. They are so comfortable and I still find them relevant today. If I love something I usually love it for a long time and that is certainly the case with these shoes. The strappy detailing on the front resembles bondage over the foot, which takes the outfit even further into tough and edgy territory. Next time you can expect to see me dressing up these shorts. For now, this was a lesson in dressing down some fancy shorts.
This look was inspired by Sharon Tate. I think that she might have worn a blouse like this one as I have seen her wearing similar pieces in photos. I love this top myself because of the sleeves and embroidery. It is also very well made and slightly sheer. I like when designers and brands use 100% silk over 100% polyester because it is so much more natural and breathable. I paired the top with light wash denim cutoffs and my beloved platform sandals. You've been seeing a lot of this fringe clutch because it goes so well with bohemian looks for summer.
