Aran Sweater Market sent me this beautiful 100% merino wool sweater and I am absolutely in love with it. I picked the loden color, which is a really vibrant green. I never knew how great a sweater could be until I got this one. It is under $200, which is a steal for this kind of soft knit sweater. Sometimes you can see a sweater like this on Shopbop or Net-A-Porter and it will cost at least $500. The worst part is that the fabric blend of the sweater will be partially synthetic or some scratchy type of wool. The sweater I am wearing is made in Ireland and the company has been making sweaters since 1892. They basically specialize in making these amazing fisherman sweaters for both men and women. I am wearing a size small if you are interested in purchasing. They do have a great sizing chart if you know your measurements. You can snag the sweater here. The sweater came just in time since it has gotten a lot colder in Denver. It keeps me very warm.
I styled my entire look around the sweater and I guess you could say I went for a classic schoolgirl look with a preppy feel. I wore the sweater with this amazing paisley embossed Alexander Wang leather skirt. I snagged this skirt at the end of summer and it is definitely a high quality and very nice skirt. My boyfriend even loved it and he always tells me I have too many leather skirts. I think the paisley print makes this skirt stand out from all the other leather skirts. The skirt is slightly thicker, but it doesn't add bulk or pounds to the body. It is also a decent length and not too short. If you have any sizing questions about this skirt you can always send me an e-mail at email@example.com and I will be happy to let you know what size I am wearing. The skirt is also available in white here.
I wore my Prada knee high boots yet again. I told you these boots are versatile. You can see me wearing them here with leggings and here with skinny jeans. I can't wait to wear with opaque tights next. These boots were a great find when I was in Chicago last month with my boyfriend. I sure love that city. These boots are classic and I like that they don't have a logo or brand stamped all over them. They will definitely stand the test of time.
Last, but certainly not least, I wore my Saint Laurent baby tote bag. You can see how I styled it in the summer here with silver sequin brogues. I consider this bag to be a classic as well because it is black and a traditional shape. The designer stamping is quite tiny on the front so it doesn't take away from the look of the bag. I adore little bags like these because I think they suit my frame and you can wear them across your body. I also snagged this bag in pink and you can see how I styled that color here with a little white dress.
If you are into sports like I am you like rooting for your favorite football team this time of year. You can wear your NFL gear with all your normal clothes without sacrificing personal style. In this video I wear a Denver Broncos sweater with a leather miniskirt and thigh high boots. Shop the entire look below. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.
Last month I was asked to help launch the NFL Hall of Fashion program and I was quite happy to participate in the event. You can see my previous NFL inspired look here. Since I love playing and watching sports, styling some NFL pieces to suit my aesthetic seemed like an appealing task. Remember, it is easy to incorporate your favorite football team into your look without sacrificing your personal style. The digital NFL Hall of Fashion will live on Instagram @NFLFanStyle and allow fans from around the country to show off their own personal fan style. This sweater is 100% cotton and has a varsity or preppy feel to it. The sweater is very soft against your skin and I love the navy blue and cream color combination. Since it had a collegiate feel to it I styled it with a leather miniskirt for a late 1960s/early 1970s vibe.
I liked the contrast of the navy blue and cream colors against the oxblood leather skirt. This Alexander Wang skirt is beautiful and is really high quality thanks to the pebbled leather. It is fairly easy to get on and off due to the zipper running down the front. The skirt also has two zippers running horizontally on either side in the front, but my sweater is covering that area for now. I am sure I will be styling this skirt again so you can see those details soon. I also sometimes show more details in the outfit video posts that follow the photos so be sure to stay tuned if you are interested.
Thigh high and over the knee boots are all over right now. The fastest way to update your look for fall and winter is to invest in a pair of these boots. The ones I am wearing are by Miu Miu and feature lace-up detailing in the back. However, they have zippers along the inside so the lace-up detailing is just for show and you don't need to do any adjusting in that area. These boots were really easy to get off and on. I know in the past I have had some trouble getting out of thigh high boots and needed my boyfriend's assistance. I think that thigh high and over the knee boots are a good replacement for trousers, leather leggings, or jeans in the cooler weather. They allow you to wear your short skirts with or without opaque tights and still stay warm. I find the silhouette of these Miu Miu over the knee boots to be particularly flattering since they are cut lower in the back and higher in the front.
I incorporated a lot of fall colors in this look such as navy blue, cream instead of white, and burgundy. This makes it slighly different than my last NFL look since we are in the middle of fall now. Leather and suede are great to include in your NFL fall outfits. Denim would still work as well, which is what I wore with my first Denver Broncos top. I also wore a darker lip gloss from Chanel that feels and looks spectacular. My nails are painted a darker hue that I find ideal for most of my fall outfits as well.
Be sure to show off your own NFL fan style by submitting your looks on Instagram and mentioning @NFLFanStyle along with the hashtag #NFLFanStyle. I am excited to see how you style your favorite team's gear! If you are in need of new fan apparel be sure to check out the NFL Shop. They carry the sweater I am wearing in the photos above.
For an edgy downtown look try a zipper skirt. This Alexander Wang skirt is knit and perfect for fall. The navy blue colors goes with your favorite black leather motorcycle jacket and pumps. Wear it with a thin cropped tee for an effortless ensemble. Shop the entire look below. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to see all my videos.
This Alexander Wang skirt is appropriately named the "peel away" skirt. I have a thing for stretchy knit skirts so it should come as no surprise that I had to snag this one. You literally have to zip yourself into it, but it is much easier than it looks thanks to the material. I actually turned the skirt ever so slightly on my body so that the zipper sits higher in the front. I think it looks better this way. You can really turn the skirt on your body however you like, but I find it more flattering the way I am wearing it versus the model in the link above. The skirt is also the perfect length so you feel comfortable and sexy in it at the same time. Now it can add some bulk to the body thanks to the material, but I don't find that bulk to be terribly unflattering.
To keep the focus on the skirt and since the skirt is so high waisted I wore it with this silk blend crop top from KAIN Label that I snagged a long time ago. I've worn this crop top on the blog a few times before and I also own it in black. I really wish they still made it because it is a really useful piece. The material of the top contrasts well with the skirt because it is thin and sheer. It would not be quite as flattering an as entire outfit if the top was a bulky knit. The fact that you can see through the top adds to its charm.
I could have went with red pumps for a notorious pop of color in this look, but I wanted to stay on the edgy route with navy and black. Navy and black is a favorite color combination of mine. See an old navy and black outfit of mine here. I have talked about these Saint Laurent pumps many times. They are a classic shape and style that I would highly recommend having in your closet. They are also really comfortable.
I am also wearing a cropped leather jacket from J Brand. J Brand makes this jacket every year in black and in some other colors. It is expensive, but not nearly as expensive as the Saint Laurent leather jacket I was wearing here. This jacket has a really thin leather and is lightweight in comparison to the Saint Laurent leather jacket. It works well for this in- between weather we have been experiencing and I find the cut to be flattering and cute. The Saint Laurent leather jacket is a bit thicker and heavier, more for a real motorcycle ride maybe. Either way, I love both jackets for different reasons. I kept everything on top cropped for this look to keep the emphasis on the high waisted knit skirt. I also kept the items on top cropped so I didn't add anymore bulk to the knit skirt or my bottom.
