On my feet are one of my favorite pairs of shoes from Alaia. A girl cannot stay away from her black ankle boots for too long.

The pattern on these knit shorts is subtle and I like the gray and black color scheme used. I've had my fill of Navajo prints. I will always love them, but my closet is saturated with shorts, cardigans, and wraps featuring various tribal prints. That is why when I saw these shorts I thought since they were a more subdued variation of the trend I could get away with just one more piece with my favorite print. Knit shorts are also fabulous because they can go with tights in the winter and in the spring you can wear them bare legged. Double duty items are ones you should look for when shopping so you can wear them year round.
To contrast with the gray and black of the shorts I added a strong bolt of color on top by wearing this sheer silk chiffon Equipment blouse in cobalt blue. I really think this color is so beautiful and vibrant. It brings back the 80s and it makes you happy, sorta like how the color yellow makes you feel. I also did the half tuck thing and I think it turned out pretty well. It allows you to see the contrast in textures between the top and the bottom while emphasizing the sheerness of the blouse. I think it downplays the shortness of the shorts too. I see shorts and tights as normal, but some people still look at me like I am wearing booty shorts. It just goes with the territory I guess.
On top I wore this fabulous leather motorcycle jacket by Schott NYC. I snagged this jacket on sale off Shopbop. The fit on this thing is amazing. There is a reason why James Dean loved Schott NYC coats. When I zip this jacket up it fits me like a glove and it accentuates the waist. Many of my other leather jackets, such as my snow leopard one by 3.1 Phillip Lim, have a boxy cut. I think this one can be really sexy zipped up, but still look tough. Schott NYC leather jackets are made in the USA of course. I even bought one for my boyfriend, but he went for a different style. On my feet are one of my favorite pairs of shoes from Alaia. A girl cannot stay away from her black ankle boots for too long. These shoes remind me of dalmatians due to the textured pattern on the patent leather.
