I love a good high-waisted short, especially in silk and with a flirty print. These shorts have colorful roses splashed all over them and feature a triangular cutout in the back. I own some suede shorts and pants by Rebecca Minkoff that I have featured on Fashion Snag in the past. I am very happy with these shorts. They aren't too tight and I like the extra length and the feel of the fabric against my skin. They are made in the USA as well. I think floral print shorts have been a hot piece to have in your wardrobe for a couple years now and I hope they continue to be popular because I really think they can help create a fabulous outfit.
Since the shorts were so bright I wanted to try to move them into fall territory by pairing them with darker pieces. I found this variegated tunic from Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent that I snagged off Shopbop last year. It is very sheer and I like to put a knit bra underneath and keep people talking, although I think they will soon find that there isn't much to talk about. The texture of the sweater and the variegated lines create an interesting effect against the silk floral fabric. I pulled out one of my tried and true favorite pair of shoes that I bought back in 2009 for a low price off Rue La La. These shoes have no platform and it is pretty rare to find a shoe these days without one. They are very comfortable and the stretchy, bondage-like straps are the reason. Since they zip up in the back they are easy to get on and off. I photographed these for Fashion Snag when I first started blogging back in August of 2009. Back then I wore them with this amazing galaxy print body-con dress. You can always click on Sigerson Morrison in the lefthand sidebar to see all my outfits featuring Sigerson Morrison. I have been on a fringe kick lately, wanting to add a little bit of fringe to all my outfits. This time I accomplished that by wearing my Jimmy Choo python trim fringed purse.
Also, if you click on any of my photos you can see them in higher resolution. It is a special feature that Typepad offers and I hope you take advantage if you want to see my shoes or clothing in even more detail.
