Matthew Williamson Studded Leather Waist Belt in Brown
On my Twitter I mentioned that I've been taking all my white clothes out of the closet so I can wear them before fall truly begins. One of the pieces that I bought this past summer was this Adam crochet skirt. This skirt is beautiful and extremely well-made. It features a scalloped hemline and has a slight A-line shape. It is also lined and feels substantial. I think it will end up being a classic piece in my closet. I can see myself wearing this 10 years from now. To make it more me and shorten the hemline a bit I cinched the waist with this Matthew Williamson belt.
I bought this studded leather waist belt last summer during a Net-a-Porter sale. I think it retailed for close to $1,000 and I paid around $280. I think that is a pretty good deal for a statement belt such as this one. It is made in Italy and I adore the deep chocolate color and gold-tone metal stud detailing. The belt helped emphasize my waist even more and also shortened the skirt just a little bit. On top I wore a basic silk tank by Kimberly Ovitz. Everyone needs a tank like this in their closet. This one is made in the USA and is 100% silk. Demi Moore was spotted wearing it recently as well with pants. Every time I go into my closet I have to resist pulling this top out because it is so versatile. You could pair it with anything and it would look good. It is a very classy piece.
For shoes I wore my sturdy Miu Miu patchwork wedges from the spring 2010 collection. I think every year Miu Miu comes out with a variation of whipstitched or patchwork wedges. I have the version from 2009 as well that you saw me wearing a month ago on Fashion Snag with my Stone Cold Fox shorts. You cannot go wrong with a Miu Miu wedge in your closet. Your feet will thank you!
