I decided to try some color blocking in shades of blue for spring.  I saw the skirt hanging near the silk tank and I thought the two blues would look pretty fabulous together.  The silk tank is a new purchase for spring from Shopbop.  I own a lot of Thayer camisoles and they are great quality for the price as compared to other silk tanks from similar brands.  This one is a beautiful royal blue and it was featured in one of Shopbop's spring look books.  They definitely sold one to me for full price.  I layered this beautiful mint green lace cropped camisole from Cosabella underneath it.  It matches the skirt so perfectly I couldn't resist.

The Quail skirt was a $49 snag off of Gilt Groupe.  The mint green/seafoam color caught my eye right away.  I love Quail for their girly, feminine pieces and their skirts especially in silk are divine.  I actually own this skirt in gray and black as well and you can find a link to me wearing the gray one last summer in the outfit description above.  I always wanted a skirt with buttons down the front and the price was right.  I also own a Quail ruffle skirt called the valentine skirt that I wore last spring on the blog.  It has ruffles in the back and it is done in a beautiful nude color.  The ruffle back is actually removable as well. 

I paired the whole outfit with gray suede pumps from Yves Saint Laurent.  I always wanted these ankle strap imperiale pumps and when I saw them pop up on Yoox in my size it was a dream come true.  I actually bought them in black as well because they had both colors available in my size and I knew it was my one chance to get them.  They are very comfortable and they fit about a half size small so if you are interested in purchasing them I would go up a half size.  The ankle strap is so pretty on these and I don't think it cuts off your legs at all.  I love the huge silver buckle and the shape of the last.  I think the gray color works well with all the blue as well.

This is one of my casual bohemian outfits.  I lived in this Nightcap Clothing motif vest last summer, throwing it on over all of my tanks.  It has huge pockets and leather fringe.  I can never resist fringe.  You can wear this vest upside down as well if that makes any sense, changing the V of the leather cutout back to point up instead of down.  I will wear it that way next time.  The last time I wore this vest was last summer in Aspen shopping with my friend Christina.  It has some good memories.  Nightcap Clothing has always been one of my favorite brands.  I was surprised that this vest got marked down so much since I find it pretty irresistible. 

I paired it with this RVCA ribbed tank dress that you have seen me wearing before on Fashion Snag.  In fact, last time I wore this I paired it with yet another fringe vest, a leather one by Of Two Minds.  It is a great basic tank dress to have in your closet, but a little bit sheer so I wore my leopard bralette from Hanky Panky underneath.  This little bra was pretty cheap at Shopbop and it is ultra comfy.  You cannot go wrong with Hanky Panky lingerie.  It is all comfortable. 

The Rick Owens ribbed wool leggings were a snag during the Christmas sales at Net-a-Porter.  They are oh so soft and very stretchy.  The seam detailing is amazing.  They are a little sheer so I wore the longer tank dress by RVCA to cover my butt.  Sometimes wool can be itchy, but I guess the wool in Italy is a little different if you know what I mean.  I wore a long tassel necklace by R.J. Graziano that I wore before on the blog with a leather fringed vest.  This necklace is a great costume piece of jewelry that you can mix and match with many things.  I always like to have plenty of fun jewelry to spice up my outfits.  I feel like the fringe on the necklace matches the fringe on the vest and I am okay with that since I like fringe so much.  R.J. Graziano makes some great quality pieces and you can usually find a sale on Gilt so make sure to join. 

Last but certainly not least, I wore my Brian Atwood mauve suede slouchy button back ankle boots.  They are almost a light pink color and very different from my other shoes.  They remind me of something an 80s Barbie might wear.  They have a button in the back so I think you can unbutton it and wear the shoes with a little less slouch.  I will have to try that next time. I snagged these on the Outnet and I wore them before on the blog with Nightcap Clothing lace inset leggings.

Lately I have been wearing all of my blouses buttoned up to the top of my neck.  It gives an old shirt a brand new look and a new one a different vibe than usual.  As you know, I am in love with all of Equipment's silk blouses and this sangria color was no exception.  I was a little unsure of how the color would look on me, but the blouse is more of a bright red color than an orange so it worked out nicely.  With the blouse buttoned up all the way I look a little like a cowgirl, especially with the boots.  I just need my bolo tie complete with a turquoise stone for a pop of color to really take the look up a notch.

I wore my favorite leather pleated skirt by Alice + Olivia that sold out like crazy last fall.  I was lucky to get this baby and I know that Zara produced a knock off version, but this one is gorgeous in person and the fit is exceptional.  So many times skirts can be too loose in the waist and fit everywhere else, but this one feels like it was tailored to my body.  I like the zipper in back as well for easy on, easy off wear.  If you need one leather pleated skirt, I would highly suggest this one by Alice + Olivia if you can still find it.  The leather is better done on this skirt than on any of their leather leggings and the pleats are the perfect size.

This is my first jacket by Muubaa and I must say that the quality and feel of the leather is excellent.  The shade is called mason grey, but it definitely looks like more of a green or taupe color which I absolutely love in combination with my strawberry blonde hair.  It has an asymmetric zipper and a longer hemline in the back.  The suede is soft to the touch, but feels like it could withstand some serious wear.  You can find the jacket at Tea Leaf Clothing and it is such a nice change from the usual black leather jackets I am always wearing.  I think the color is great for spring and I am definitely bringing this Muubaa jacket on my next vacation.

I paired it with an all black ensemble with lace details to make it really stand out.  I wore a BCBG lace bottom tunic that has holes for my thumbs.  I love tops like these because they make me feel edgy.  It is nice when tops have little details like lace hems and thumbholes because it can really make the difference in an all black outfit.  I got this tunic dress on sale at Shopbop last week and I scrunched it up to wear it some some shorts by The Reformation.  The shorts are made of rayon and have lace detailing along the bottom and the side.  I wish they were made of silk, but we cannot have everything we want.  This is my first purchase of anything by The Reformation, but I really do think the shorts are extra cute.  They are available at Revolve Clothing.  When summer gets here I am wearing them without tights. 

I topped off the whole ensemble with my Givenchy cowboy boots that I snagged off of Yoox last year.  I love leaving these slightly unzipped to elongate the legs.  They have beautiful patent detailing.  It is hard to believe these shoes got marked down to $150 in the end.  Maybe they were too wild for the general public.  I don't know.  I love them, but I have a bit of cowgirl in me I guess.  Givenchy shoe designs are some of my favorites.  I also own these boots in the regular leather version without all the shiny patent leather detailing.  I will have to photograph them soon for Fashion Snag.

I cannot say enough good things about Equipment's signature blouse in silk.  I live in these shirts and they go with absolutely everything.  I think I must have one of every color, but I still have my eye on a bright green and turquoise shade.  They are silky, slightly oversized and very comfortable.  I think every woman needs at least one nice silk shirt in her closet and I am sure you would agree.  The color I am wearing here is a bright indigo or purple and I think it looks pretty fabulous against my strawberry blonde hair.  My boyfriend really liked the violet shade on me. 

I've always liked the idea of gray and purple together so I paired my Equipment shirt with some gray suede leggings by Rebecca Minkoff.  These are probably one of my most comfortable pair of leather leggings and they are made in the USA so the sale price was pretty much a steal.  They don't feel too constricting on my legs and the silk lining is very soft.  They are different from the usual leggings in that they have this zipper going all the way around the back.  The zipper has no purpose really.  It just looks interesting and unique. 

I have always wanted to tuck my pants into sandals or heels and the perfect opportunity arose with this outfit.  It looks like the gray color on the bottom goes on forever when I pair the gray suede leggings with these Camilla Skovgaard cutout wedge ankle booties.  I left the pants tucked into them to really show off the detail of the shoes.  I didn't realize it at the time, but last time I wore these wedges I wore them with the shorts version of these Rebecca Minkoff pants.  You might have seen Sienner Miller rocking these same Camilla Skovgaard wedges in black.

Meet my new favorite miniskirt, the swinton.  This Rag & Bone swinton bandage skirt is so soft due to a blend of alpaca and silk and the sale price wasn't really that bad.  I love how easy it is to slip on due to the elastic knit fabric and it is pretty warm so I can pair it with a tank for spring.  I bought the black version, but this skirt is also available in gray.  Rag & Bone has really impressed me lately and I find myself constantly going back to check on their new arrivals.  They have great quality clothes that seem to have a timelessness to them that I appreciate.  If you are looking for a stretchy, no fuss black bandage skirt that won't make you itch then this would be the perfect one for you. 

I paired my Rag & Bone mini with a bright melon bodice tank from LnA.  This was part of my package of LnA goodies that Karina from Tea Leaf Clothing sent me.  This melon color is fabulous for the bright color trends of spring 2011.  It has some nifty pockets in the front that are shaped like little triangles.  I like all the geometric seam detail going on in this tank and the bodice part is perfect for small busted girls like myself.  I layered it over my T by Alexander Wang ponte criss cross bra top for an overall sporty look.  I especially adore how the back of the tank looks combined with the criss cross bra straps.  LnA makes some great high quality basics and they are one of my go-to brands when I need a t-shirt or tank.  Luckily, Tea Leaf Clothing carries a wide variety of LnA pieces and they often have codes available for a certain percentage off if you follow them on Twitter.  Be sure to stock up on some tanks for spring.  I know I am!

It is difficult not to wear these Lanvin wedge ankle boots with absolutely everything.  They are easy to slip on and comfortable despite the height.  Plus, they go with everything since they are black.  I am glad Lanvin continued the puzzle piece wedge concept for spring with their ankle strap tie peep toe wedges.
