Welcome to 2011 everyone! Last night the boyfriend and I had a delicious spaghetti meal complete with spicy hot peppers and olive oil bread. We celebrated with champagne. A cold spell complete with snow has finally struck Denver so we didn't really feel like going out. We also watched The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock. I really enjoyed that movie and found it very inspiring. I hope all of you had a great celebration last night either at home or out on the town and you are safe and happy.
For my outfit I wore a cozy Elizabeth and James chunky cropped hoodie complete with a zipper running down the hood so you can also make it into an oversized collar. I love this sweater, but sometimes it is hard to wear because it is so cropped. I guess I have had a thing for layering cropped sweaters over tanks for as long as I can remember. I layered this sweater over a beautiful Isabel Lu silk pocket tank. This tank has an asymmetrical hemline and I tucked the shorter side into my shorts and left the longer side hanging out. It has a little pintucking on the longer side as well, which I find really cute. I find that by leaving things half-tucked you can really change up the look of your outfit.
My lovely boyfriend bought me these gorgeous 3.1 Phillip Lim fringed shorts. It really is hard to tell what they look like from an online photo. They are very heavy and the fringe moves as you walk. I am absolutely in love with them and they are great quality. I noticed 2010 was the year where I acquired the most shorts in my wardrobe, possibly due to the fact that you can wear them into fall/winter with tights. For shoes I wore my Giuseppe Zanotti tulip vamp ankle boots. These are beautiful shoes and the tulip vamping makes them very flattering on the legs.
On the giveaway front, I have chosen a winner and contacted her via e-mail, but I have yet to hear back from her. I will give her another 48 hours and if I do not hear back I will have to choose someone else as the winner of the Society for Rational Dress leather skirt. Either way, the winner of the giveaway will be anounced as soon I hear back from her. Please stay tuned for another giveaway in the near future featuring a piece of jewelry!
xoxo
